Getting logged out

For a couple of weeks now the mobile site had been randomly signing me out, sometimes when I'm even in the middle of a post. I use chrome on a android phone, and obviously this isn't a major issue since I can just sign back in, but I figured you'd like to know all bugs.

    More than just a chrome issue, unless it's a big enough issue that it effects Firefox as well.

    It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing... And take away its pain.

    Been happening to me a lot today on desktop FF. But a simple refresh shows me still logged in, so I don't think we're actually being logged out. At least what I'm experiencing doesn't seem to be (not sure if it's the same issue everyone on mobile is experiencing)

    I've had it sporadically on mobile Firefox, and rarely on Firefox on my PC. But it's also logged me back in automatically on the home PC though.

    This has been happening to me all day on Firefox. If I go to another page or something I'll still be logged in though - it's like the site is not reading the cookie right sometimes or something.

    It's been happening all day in Firefox/IE8 and on mobile through Safari.

    I also occasionally get Permission errors when trying to pull up the drop down to get to my bookmarks.

    This happens when the load on the application servers gets so high that requests to the backends take too long. The cache serves back a "logged out" cached version of the page you requested instead of showing you "blerk the forums are down". Its a more graceful reaction.

    Has nothing to do with:

    computer
    operation system
    browser
    desktop vs mobile

    Just forum load.

    I went ahead and documented in the form of screenshots (which me get logged out before I can post this)

    1) trying to make a post. Hitting 'post reply' twice doesn't seem to work so try save draft before refreshing:

    2) After page refresh. No new post(s) to the thread and I am logged out.

    3) Relogged and verified that the draft isn't saved.

    4) I scroll up to check my bookmarks and get this error; refreshing shows I am logged out again.

    My hunch is either that
    A. something is going on at your end (possible if no one is having precisely the same symptoms)
    B. this is load related. we're experiencing generally higher loads at the moment

    I just checked and none of our anti-cambiata plugins are activated
