Pin Pals. I love it, and it works on multiple levels. It should be the unofficial name of Pinny Arcade traders.
I'm already looking forward to the 3rd party pins now too. If Ubisoft commissioned an Assassin's Creed pin done with Mike's art I would be very happy indeed. 8->

I had to go 'pinny' cause 'pin' is taken but it's probably a more appropriate name anyway!
It's empty right now but it'll be a fairly simply site to start, I was thinking it just compliments this thread/forum, so a grid of the pins, who has them for trade, what that person wants and a link to their profile page on this forum to private message. Then we can also keep track of successful trades and keep track of bonded pals if people are ok with that being public info, then others know who they can ask etc.
I hope to get it up in at least before Prime but it's sort of terrible timing as I'm about to go on vacation but we'll see At the very least, if it looks like I can't take on the workload, I'll just provide the domain/hosting for free to some one else if there are any takers. If PA end up releasing their own version, we'll just gracefully close it or see if it has a place still as something else.

Buttoneering is an "at pax" event. It was originally designed to be somewhat like disney pin trading, but it's very personalized for each individual. It's an awesome way to meet people at pax, and take home a momento of each new person you meet (if they are participating). I have a whole lot of buttons from various people and each one reminds me of something different about pax.
If you really enjoy pin trading, I would highly encourage doing buttoneering at your next pax.

Suffering from severely crippling social anxiety, it really seems impossible to even think about attending something like PAX; however, I have a very dear friend whose wife was recently taken by cancer at 32 years old, and he and she were huge Lookouts fans. If someone comes out of PAX Prime with an extra "Lookouts" badge, I would be willing to purchase whatever is needed from the pins available online in order to get that pin for him.

I'm expecting big things, I really want to see some indie developers getting in on the action.
I want to see something from the big three, Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft but I don't think that's their thing.
I would be putting bets on things like, League of Legends, World of Tanks, Magic the Gathering; things that have had a strong presence at PAX so far.
To be honest I'm kinda scared that us PAX Aus people will miss out on vendor pins, if they decide not to make the trip out.
But that's what our little Pin Pal community is about, I guess.

Has anyone else wondered why there is no staff pin for Jerry?
Mike and Jerry have had their own pins. Neither of them are in this "staff" set. The Mike they refer to in the staff set is Mike Fehlauer, not Mike Krahulik.
I'm dying that this is a collector's itch I can't scratch. I think I'll buy some and trade for some, and try very very hard not to be upset that I'm unwilling to get every pin possible (including PAX East, Aus, and PADLC).

This is do able if you are a Prime attendee, however just remember that new pins will be released 3 times a year at each of the PAX's.
With the PIN Pal set up you will have more of a chance of having a complete set or close to it.
3 is the magic number in this case guys, 1 pin for your collection 1 pin to trade for EAST and 1 Pin to trade to AUS.
Pin Pals is awesome cause you have a partners getting you pins, the more you put into getting the pins for your pals the more they will put into getting pins for you,
And a rapport is built.
Looking at the second announcement the hardest to get a full set of will be the behemoth pins... I'm not sure how their capsule machine works though.

I've gotta admit, with the most recent announcement I'm not even sure that I want all of the pins. I only see two that are must haves for me, and most of the others look like ones that I wouldn't mind getting, but wouldn't bend over backwards for. But hey, that's what trading is for, right?
How was trading with gabe/tycho/whoever at East and Aus? I'm considering buying an extra lookouts set (hoping it's the cheapest per pin) and using those to trade for Khoo's pin, and other pins. Did they accept other goods for trading?~
Manic has a good idea though, I guess if I wanted, I can buy three sets of Prime pins to trade the extra two sets for aus and east...
But like I said before I think I won't go crazy with pins (lol yes i will) and will only get pins from the convetion I'm at (PAX wise, so I don't want a pax aus/east pin since i didn't go there) but I want other pins from those convetions (ike chandra 1+2)
