Man I couldn't even stand the first scene of the first season
A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.
Also it's nice to see a shounen where the girl is unapologetically badass

I don't remember much fanservice in soul eater, except for I guess those two gun ladies. Though I haven't watched it in quite a while.
Personally I'll put up with a bit of fanservice if a show still has good female characters, and while soul eater certainly wasn't deep it always treated its female characters the same way as its male characters.

DBZ was the dumbest thing, so many of my friends watched it in high school and I just could not understand the appeal.
DBZ Abridged, on the other hand, is faaabulous

DBZ was trashy fun until all of the enemies after Freeza had magical regeneraton abilities and no motive beyond "I was created specifically to fight the strongest fighters ever to fight fight fight fighters fight fighting fight."
Also whenever Cartoon Network would rewind the show a season and a half into the past so it could rebuild its buffer.
Remember when Stephanie McMahon got breast implants and then Y2J started making fun of her for it and put a side by side photo of her before and after and everyone was like oooooooooh and the King was like HEY IT'S JUST HER POSTURE IS DIFFERENT WHAT IS HE SUGGESTINGPUPPIES

I love how the Abridged version does basically that exact thing, then stops halfway to point out how dumb it is.

although it started to lose it's appeal when i realized that in most half hour episodes the story only progresses about 8 minutes.

The good ol' days.
"We have one idea for a villain, but let's turn him into 4 separate sagas, each as uninteresting as the last."

Did you know that I applied for the graphic design program at Red River Community College twice and did not get in both times?
I am pretty much Y2J.
