I've seen the demo video and they just look horrid.
The character animations seem okay, but the designs are just awful.
It's weird, because the current show is the most cartoony take since the 80s cartoon, and yet they chose to go with this Arkham Asylum grittiness (at least for the character models) that doesn't really fit the turtles at all.
Also, I find it really annoying that they took the one property we've had, like, ever, where the turtles actually look like teens, and chose to fast forward ahead and make them into adults.
I actually am interested in trying out to the demo, because there was a fair bit I couldn't gather from the demo video.
Particularly the voice acting and music and sound fx, because the host literally never stops talking the entire time so I couldn't make out a goddamn thing.
I dont know if I so much disagree with the review as just not agree on the severity of the complaints, especially at 15 bucks (in australia). Ive been playing it co-op with two friends and its all kinds of fun, some of the co-op combos are fantastic and fun to pull off. And I like the visual style. Ah well. The demos out so my advice would be to check that out rather than the reviews.

I dont know, when someone says "IS THIS THE VISUAL STYLE YOU LIKE!?" and I genuinely do like that visual style, I think it has a nice blend of semi-realism and cartoony exaggeration and works quite well, I'm not sure what to say? Opinions? The voice acting is ok for a 15 dollar arcade brawler, and most of those cutscenes act as load times.
Zoomed up character models staring directly into a camera rarely look good for any game btw. Especially when they are smiling anthropomorphic turtles, and the second screenshot doesnt even look bad
Dont mistake my defense of this game as some kind of mark of its true quality, it has problems, I just dont agree with some of the "worst live arcade game ever" comments I've seen in some reviews, thats just nonsense.

TMNT (the game based on the 2007 film) isn't bad
It's easily the best Ninja Turtles game since SNES days

Just make an Ultimate Alliance style game but with the Turtles instead
And since you only have four characters, make the character building a lot more in-depth
It ain't hard, game developers

There's a difference between "weird-cool" and "weird-steaming-pile-of-dogshit".
But if you like it and the game is fun, good for you.
