My dad's kind of luxury car (he's an engineer): The Tesla Car

100% electric, 125 mpg, peak torque 0-13,000 RPM, around $100k. And it also happens to look about as sexy as a Viper or Carrera.

See, I wanted to make a new topic since this was dead and it didn't really apply, but meh. New threads are not my thing so much.

    your dads a crap engineer
a real one would want something powerful
so he can say it was perfectly crafted by skilled engineers striving to push the limits of motoring

not cobbled together by enslaved engineering-based employees meeting the demands of midlife crisis housewives trying to get back to nature

Do you like sitting on a seat made out of carpet? Neither do I, and that is just one reason why a luxury car with leather seats is a far more practical choice.

This may have already been addressed, but anyone who says they like leather seats has never sat in one in 100 degree heat after it's been baking for a few hours.

I slept on a leather sofa in 100 degree heat because I was too drunk to turn on the air con once.

I became more couch than man that day.

There was a car reviewed in the paper a while back... the Phantom or something. It was fucking ridiculous.

Something like 20 feet long and over two tons, not to mention $200,000+

    And I think 12 mpg

you know electricity comes from gas guzzling or radioactive sludge producing power plants right?

The hood ornament is retractable to prevent theft. Probably because it's one of the few hood ornaments worth stealing.

I've ridden in both rain and snow.

    no thanks.

Bikes are great as a secondary vehicle, but as a daily driver? hell no. God forbid you ever need to shop for more then 3 or 4 days in food.

considering the tesla smokes a good number of gasoline sportscars, i'm sure it'd have no problem driving uphill

possibly even several times on different occasions

See, I consider the car to be the secondary vehicle, only to be used when I need to move a shitton of stuff or it's raining too much to ride, or snowing, or below freezing.

I definitely spend more time on my Bike than I do in my car. This summer I've driven my car 3 times, and all three were when my bike was getting repaired and inspected.
