    Anyone know about quantifiable measures of water quality that I could record before and after the installation of a filtering system for a pond or river? Oxygenation, bacteria loads, heavy metals, that sort of thing?

    No direct knowledge, but you could probably get that kind of info from your city or county, public water systems usually have like a target range in PPM off those kinds of things. Maybe try OSHA or your state equivalent as well.
