Like I said, you can have my token - I probably won't need it anytime soon. But you're gonna have to come up here, Baltar. You're gonna have to Come. Up. Here.

Alright then Discard Pol 1 - CP to go visit Romo and "acquire" his miracle token

  • MrBlarneyMrBlarney Registered User regular
    Turn 10: Gaius Baltar (Phyphor)

Movement Step: Phyphor discards Politics 1 - Consolidate Power to move to President's Office.
Action Step: Take miracle token from Romo Lampkin (blahmcblah).

Gaius Baltar moves to Colonial One to congratulate the new President and engage in discourse. Their meeting is cut short due to a clamor from the press who demand an explanation from President Lampkin for the recent events across the fleet.

Crisis Step: Ambushed by the Press

President Romo Lampkin (blahmcblah) must choose:
    A) -1 morale
    OR
    B) The President must discard all of his Skill Cards.

After Crisis: Activate Raiders, Advance Jump Preparation

Also yeah, with a potential jump prep/jump prep/blind jump setup here I need an XO so we have the fuel for it

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE

ALLL YOU DO IS TAKE TAKE TAKE

YOU DON'T DESERVE AN AWESOME PRESIDENT LIKE ME

What should I do here, guys? This sucks, my hand is awesome, but losing more morale would suck. I'm leaning toward tossing my hand, but that totally blows.

7 cards? Some of which are probably good? That's a really hard choice, especially immediately after your turn

    Phyphor on
  • PhyphorPhyphor Building Planet Busters Tasting FruitRegistered User regular
I would probably discard I think, since we are getting hit hard early in morale

Waiting to find out what's in the quorum hand before I make my decision.

  • KaneskiKaneski Registered User regular
Holy crap. Game really doesn't want you to have cards, huh. I normally value morale at around 25 skill cards points worth...

Also, with the jump track up this high/pursuit track just about ready, might as well FTL it after the cylons come in.

Or XO Doc for more skill card pinata.

  • TenekTenek Registered User regular
Eh. We'll get more cards. I'm not worried.

  • Professor PhobosProfessor Phobos Registered User regular
I'm kinda regretting not trading some morale for fuel. I would rather be in the red on morale than in the red on fuel, all other things being equal.

  • TenekTenek Registered User regular
You've seen the Quorum hand, I'm not sure why you're worried.

  • KaneskiKaneski Registered User regular
The best reason I can see for holding on to the cards is if Blah really does hold solid gold in his hand. The demetrius 2-distance mission is... somewhere between 20 and 25 difficulty, so trading morale for that pass would be well worth it.

Sorry, was away at work all day. I thought my CO was good enough, but apparently it wasn't. Option B, discard.

I would consider my hand to be both solid gold in terms of strength (around 20), and card value (just great, useful cards). But giving up a morale so easily just doesn't seem like the right choice, and we haven't scouted the mission, so... I guess I'll have a new hand in like 5 turns.

    Turn 10: Gaius Baltar (Phyphor)

Crisis Card: blahmcblah selects option B, discarding Leadership 5 - At Any Cost, Politics 2 - Support the People, Politics 3 - Investigative Committee, Politics 3 - Investigative Committee, Tactics 1 - Launch Scout, and Tactics 3 - Critical Situation.

President Lampkin takes the time to address the press, answering all questions to the best of his ability.

After Crisis: One Raider is placed in the Fore (9 o'clock) section of the Cylon Fleet board. The Pursuit track advances to Level 4 - Grunt's Ghosts must place two civilian ships (Aft (3 o'clock) and Port-Quarter (5 o'clock) excluded due to existing ships).

Geth roll 1d8 for Activate Raiders

To be clear, I made the edit because I decided to rule the crisis card language of 'all cards' as equal to blahmcblah's hand size, rather than being equivalent to infinity. In the former, he gets to keep one card due to Romo Lampkin's general ability, whereas in the latter he discards everything.

So... looking at space situation. The cylons will either all jump in on next crisis, or just the Fore basestar+heavy. If it's the fore basestar + heavy - no big deal. If it's the whole board, though, then AFT civvies have to be defended. Kat will be up on the correct turn to defend the aft civvies, and with enough EMs can live until next jump. However, if raiders activate and it's the whole board, then the fore civvie will be under attack, followed shortly by port bow.

(EDIT/Redacted): Right, sorry. I should be looking at CURRENT turn, not last turn. I'm tthhhhmart that way.

I guess we will place the civs at 1 o'clock and Ill have to either defend or go on the offensive on my turn.

  • KaneskiKaneski Registered User regular
2 Civs, Ghosts. Can't place them both in the same spot. I'd suggest Port-bow for the 2nd civ, because easy escort.

  • MrBlarneyMrBlarney Registered User regular
Yep, need a second civilian ship location before proceeding.
