So, XO target: D'Anna or Cain? Are we still planning to SoE next turn? Or this one? XO + SoE would still give us the scout, Main Batteries, Command, Brig attempts and another Quorum draw.

I'd say XO Cain. SOE means D'Anna still gets to activate the comm twice before civvies are in danger.

Still seems a little sketchy to me. Once we jump.. eugh.

Well, the good news is I can do almost as good a job if someone XO's me, whether I get out or not.

Ldr 2 - XO on Cain

The Cagmiral, who's had plenty of opportunity to screw us before. But yeah, it's definitely worrisome.

Well hope we have the tactics cards to let you guys out of the brig. Might be OK after Cain's draw...

Re: brig check after XO... risky. Clearing destiny... eeeeh... there's a 50/50 chance that the thing either adds 2 more treachery, or a civ to AFT, neither of which we need right now. Civs should be cleared first. We're still low on cards and should stretch out draws without crisis as much as we can. If missile launch activation is drawn - about half of the stuff it could hit is vital at the moment. If it's an Admiral discards, admiral is sickbay'ed, or (to counter the luck of the 1 distance) Admiral executed - we are fucked.

Knife edge here. Excellent plan with SoE/XO/Counter-XO to do awesome things... "I vent through some trouble to prepare that game for McClane. You interfered with a well-laid plan" :P

@Professor Phobos If you're considering a nuke on fore - good target, just bear in mind: if on your turn (or Adama's if he still wants to risk a brig check), there's a basestar launch, the entire cylon fleet comes down, and we're not yet in FTL position. Since I'll counter-XO you on my turn with only 1 crisis inbetween (and for that crisis both our pilots would be out), you can nuke then, you bloodthirsty CAGmiral you.

Also - on your turn, move to somewhere an XO on you would do us the most good.

If I get the SoE/XO that I'm hoping Cain draws, I will clear both from Starboard-Quarter, launch into Port-bow and clear that. That's 6 activations. With piloting cards up to the ears, those vipers can probably survive a round or two getting shot. Doubly so if Cain's current XO either nukes or otherwise thins out the horde.

I would totally take the whole fleet crashing down before we jump.

  • Options
    TenekTenek Registered User regular
Also, we should probably jump early since we have population to spare as long as the civilians don't get trashed.

  • Options
    TenekTenek Registered User regular
I like my odds on the Treachery card, anyways... 2 of them are "add more to the large pile on the board" and 2 are negated by me being in the Brig already.

  • Options
    KaneskiKaneski Registered User regular
@Tenek Clearing Destiny... ugh. Yeah, we're dealing with a definite negative, but sheer odds say that it's probably a small negative. If you clear it - then the first 2 times that the new destiny will be used is to get you and Kat out of the brig on SoE, bringing the destiny deck back up to 2/3rds hostile with higher value cards possible in the mix. I'd rather ensure getting one of you out by dealing with the probable much smaller negative.

But this is personal preference rather than probability or tactics - I prefer dealing with knowns, even bad ones.

I would too, but I didn't mean on Cain's turn. We should get a Jump-Track advance before we invite the Cylons. I will XO Cain on my turn anyway - she can nuke then, by then we've had 2 crisis to give us a jump track advance and Doc or Romo can FTL us out. Ooh - delaying will also give Cain extra tactics for strat plans.

Ugh, I wish the current XO was on me - between yours and SoE/XO, there'd be 1 civilian left on the board, WITH escort and we'd be golden.

Does anyone have a Major Victory? If I nuke the basestar, we could use the morale. Also am I moving anywhere or just staying put and Launching a Scout + Something else?

Alrighty. First things first, I play Tactics 1 - Launch Scout. After that, I Activate Main Battery, Targeting the Raiders next to the Basestar at the Fore.

And I like, throw my miracle token my cat, LSO Mittens, since I can't blind jump anymore :(

Pass on SPs. Activate Brig after XO.

Sorry, but it's a good time to burn the Treachery if nothing else.

If we ever use Demetrius again, you might get to spend your token on the Rebel Basestar.

I won't wait for Strategic Planning on the scout roll, but I'll pause for one on the Main Battery roll.

Launch Scout roll was successful, which deck are you scouting?

Geth roll 1d8 for Launch Scout

Fuel is the only realistic way we can lose at this point, barring some kind of morale death spiral. I say scouting is pretty important.

Civilans hold fuel. I was referring yo your turn draw of xo vs scout. Unless you have an xo saved up to use on me as the soe action...? :D

    Turn 26: Lee Adama (Tenek)

Movement Step: Tenek remains at the Brig.
Action Step: Tenek plays Leadership 2 - Executive Order, targeting Helena Cain (Professor Phobos). Professor Phobos uses his first action to play Tactics 1 - Launch Scout, targeting the Destination Deck. The roll is successful, and Professor Phobos looks at the top card of the Destination Deck then replaces it on the bottom of the deck. For his second action, Professor Phobos activates Main Batteries, targeting the Fore (9 o'clock) area. Four Raiders are destroyed.

Tenek uses his general ability to activate the Brig.

    [7] Politics + Tactics
Pass: Tenek may move from the Brig to any location on Galactica.
    Fail: No effect.

    Skill Check Contributions
    Destiny Deck - 2 cards
    Helena Cain (Professor Phobos) -
    D'Anna Biers (Kaneski) - (max. 2 cards)

Louanne "Kat" Katraine (Grunt's Ghosts) - (max. 1 card)
Lee Adama, Daybreak ver. (Tenek) - (max. 1 card)

The Destiny deck has been depleted and a new deck has been created.
