The one time I got to see Blade Runner, I started it like a fourth of the way into it. But I kind of knew what it was about already, so I just wanted to actually -see- it and see how it played out and everything. I was disappointed on about every single level. But I also don't really remember any of it, so I kind of want to watch it again from the start at some point to give it the 'proper' shot.
I really like Blade Runner's cinematic scenes and music

I saw Blade Runner long before I would even consider if a character or scene was "rapey," so now even when it's been explained to me I just don't see it that way.
I can totally see how others could have that viewpoint though.

I'd say give it a shot, it's not everyone's cup of tea which is perfectly understandable especially with the reasons Anti gave. It's a noteworthy piece of slow, moody, downright gritty science fiction noir. Just beware there are multiple cuts, I've found the Final Cut to be the best of them.
