Quick question: Can previous participants in the last round re-enter in this round? What if -SPI- wanted to enter again for example (I haven't read the previous pages, so forgive me for not knowing this)? Would he be allowed to or not?

Also, I would like to be a spectator in the next match. Any way to make this possible?

Tanzt, in her own words: "I know, I know - an anime chick. Seen it before, right? Well, how many anime chicks have exactly FOUR bolts screwed into their head? I thought so."

If Frankenstien's Monster was a teenage girl genius, she'd look like this.

She's about fifteen (or so) and has unusual (ie. the usual) skill in both engineering and surgery. You can tell the second because she's sewn herself up multiple times; and the first because she carries a giant wrench, referred to as "The Tool". She uses it to A) construct robots, B) as a warhammer/shield and c) to cuddle at night in bed. Man, she loves to cuddle up with her Giant Tool.

Aside from her intelligence in highly specialized areas, she doesn't have any outwardly noticeable superhuman abilities. But then, she uses a sixty pound wrench as a warhammer. So, I guess, draw your own conclusions. She also might be a little insane - nobody's ever asked her outright, but it's been hinted that the brain currently in her skull might not be an original part. Which possibly voids the warranty.

    Strength: Electric, Ground, Poison
    Weakness: Water, Psychic

We need a way to weed out the noobs. I had mentioned before some sort of questions panel, where the replies had to be drawn. I think this is a fun game we can all play and use as a noob filter.

I refuse to take part in your arbitrary noob filters, I think there's a rule that if you out-date every single person who posts on the forum actively including the old administrator and all the old moderators that you don't have to stand for shit like that.

I'm sure it's in the rules thread.

It's good to see so much activity in the thread so early on. Lets hope this momentum carries through to the end.

Working on my submission now. I am guessing the "mugshot" means a profile of our characters face, and not just a smaller close up of the whole picture?

Should be done and posted later tonight...

Could that be related to me ^^'? It made kind of sense to me to pick that detail from my character shot.
But I'll do a seperate one if necessary, np ^^

Well, the idea was that Buckwolfe is easy to draw and to parody. Something tells me that most people won't be too into actually having to draw some genital themed abortion. Besides, I find it harder for me to identify with something like that as an avatar, despite the fact that most of it probably stems from my own sexual repression and mental disorders.Razz.gif

I agree, I'm a noob at this battle thread and I know most likely I will lose the first round. Something like MT said, or have some warm up rounds or something. But if no, then I guess the first round is going to be how you weed out the noobs.

Also, is it still going to be 4 days? don't know if your going to make it shorter or longer. Plus...I have dial up...guess that means i'm going to work harder. Lets see, dial up is what, 50 times slower than DSL so...carry the 2....SHIT!

I still agree with Magic Toaster, in theory. We should have some sort of elimination bracket for the newbs, i.e. Me. However, I think it should be before the real event gets underway.

What about a quickie sort of non-oponent based challenge (again, like MT's Judges Panel) for all newcomers. Still have a 4 day turn around time for entries, but only need two entires total (4 days-> setup due->4 days->Punchline Due). You miss, you're out. Simple as that. Maybe even extend it to the first official round.

Anyone from the previous tournament gets a buy into this first round but can compete in the entry challenge if they so desire.

Now then, on a personal note, while I'm very interested in this I start a new job in 2 days. I still wish to enter, but until I get into the swing of things at work I wouldn't be able to dedicate the time necessary to participate. Hopefully, by the time the tourney has its official start I should be where I need to be.

Strength: Power to change into multipule races of the star trek universe
Also good at technology, can make his own devices.
Weaknesses: Over exercion of his blood will cause intence pain as well as a fusion of the races. Also the basic fleshly weaknesses.
Resistance:Mental Interigation EX: MindMelds,Brain washing, Jedi mind trick(Yes, star wars), ESP.

Origin: Made by Borg. After they made him, they found him pretty much useless and just ignored him in the cube ship. You know, not letting him play any borg games, like assimilating Captin Picard, anal probing. So he got pissed and left, and found this tournament and saw the unique people. He thought these people were perfect specimens to be assimilated.

Since there isn't many trekkies, or people who don't want to be virgans for the rest of there life, here is some info about the races.
Ferengi-They are like the merchants of the star trek universe, nothing very special about them, there just good at conducting deals and trades.
Klingons-Warrior race of the star trek universe.
Human- Balance in the star trek universe, His human form is what makes it possible for him to change into mutiple races.
Vulcan-Logical, they do not act on emotion, they don't yell or show emotion, they don't lie.Why don't they lie? Lieing is illogical, lieing is not telling the facts.
Cardassian-Really, I always had trouble pegging them. They usually have a plan within a plan within a plan. They can't hear as well as humans.

Someone had mentioned a splash or something portraying how our character would deal with a 100 zombies or obnoxious child. I am down for this but I think the more important issue at hand is HOW TO DEAL WITH A WHOLE PLANE FULL OF SNAKES??? POP QUIZ HOTSHOT.

Seriously, I want in pretty bad but haven't ever done any comp art, I'd have to scan and stuff at school so I'd have a hard time with the really short deadlines. Maybe I should buy a scanner or photoshops or something. That'd be cool.

I don't know if it should really be about 'sooner', but I could surely do witha big ole helping of 'better'. Which is what I think Round two will be if we can get a better committment and idea of the contestants ability.

A character sheet does not a contestant make, it does not make with the funny, nor the action, nor the storytelling that is required of the battle. Any nub can throw down a stock pose and a description. There's time enough I think while we gather the massive audience and warriors to busy ourselves with a prefight work.

Looking back at last tourney, I'm only seeing 1 or 2 matches where no one showed up. I love the first round of any tournament, because excitement is sitll high and people tend to put more into that round. Unless you're SPI, that is, but there's a reason he was the champ last time around.
