fun fact! I read and enjoyed both The Gunseller (Hugh Laurie novel, ending sucked a bit) and Making History as well as The Hippopotamus and The Liar before I ever had any sodding idea about who those guys were.

the book shops where I used to buy my English language books were a lot more sophisticated than I was back then.

I love QI. I discovered it recently and have been going on a tear through episodes on YouTube.

Good god this show is amazing. Everything about it is wonderful.

Does anyone else love the weird way Jimmy Carr laughs?

it is actually a frequent comment on the videos. it is a magical laugh.

...don't ask me why i read youtube comments, but the QI comments are usually safe!

Geek, i have this money order sitting on my counter, where it has been for weeks. i don't even know, man.

I think the laugh being so great has something to do with his general facial expressions and his type of humor in that it's usually so blank faced and deadpan that when he laughs it's just so contrary to his typical way of being.

personally I find atheists to be just as aggravating as theists. atheists tend to leave my private parts and my eating habits alone though so I don't mind them as much.

    I love QI

and I love Would I Lie To You

And I love The Unbelievable Truth

and I love Was It Something I Said?

so while this is primarily a QI thread I just want to re-emphasize that David Mitchell owns bones

    so, favourite QI quests?

David Mitchell is #1 on that we can all agree I suppose. number two and three slots go to Jimmy Carr and Rob Brydon then?

my top three are David Mitchell, Dara Ó Briain, and Bill Bailey.

i also really like Rob Brydon, Sandi Toksvig, and Phil Jupitus.

i like Jo Brand, but she does a lot of husband jokes, and something about Sue Perkins is off to me, maybe her timing? but she's funny enough. Jimmy Carr, too. Rich Hall is just too weird for me, but i do enjoy the rare crack in his persona.
