Ra's into a Green Arrow villain is a pretty smart move
Ollie is very liberal and tries to see the best in people and better the world while Ra's is a realist/pessimist who sees the world as unclean and wants to purge the unworthy.
Arrow's Ollie is a bit different but it still is a good pairing.
the obligatory CW family drama stuff is dumb as hell but the characters and action scenes are all very well done. My biggest problem is that it was kinda afraid to be a superhero show, but with the Suicide Squad and The Flash and Ollie possibly taking the name Green Arrow and vowing not to kill it sounds like Season 2 has embraced its roots.

I won't spoil it too much but they have introduced (in 3 episodes) no less than 7 comics characters, all with costumes and a lot more colorful than stuff in season one.

You're right, I misread, he says that he didn't have a destination planned when he got onto the book and figured out the first arc before coming up with the whole Secret Origin stuff.

I mean
Mark Waid and James Robinson are doing the same thing with Spider-Man in their OGN
and I am sure it will be a good story, as Secret Origin is, but that doesn't make it any less ridiculous and a lil dumb.
the same story was told with spider-man 20 years ago though, in the adam troy castro sinister six books (which are great, and everyone should read)

I'm a million times more excited for this than Cap or Thor.
As far as DoFP vs Cap goes, it's not really a contest for me, because barring individual characters, I have never been able to bring myself to give much of a damn about X-Men.
I mean, I'll probably still see DoFP, and I still need to see First Class, and I could see myself even picking up an X-Book or two
But they just don't appeal to me in the way that anything not-X-Men does

The finale of the first season of Arrow is the first time I've yelled "fuck yes" at the TV in years
It starts off a little slow and its got a brand of camp you have to buy into but I really love it
(unless AoS picks up here soon that is)

Yeah but the whole point is Cap clashing with SHIELD due to those more militaristic and aggressive actions
