Infinity #5, certain egos are going to be hella inflated after this series. Plus, never trust strangers bearing gifts (really love the third panel of the second page):

Avengers #22, when it comes to pep talks, one Avenger is a quaalude, the other is cocaine.

X-Men Battle of the Atom #2, ten issues, no real change except for the last pages:

Scarlet Spider #23, a literal slasher comic for Halloween:

turns out Kaine killed him, but brings him back to life so Kraven can be in his own hell. Donald is hanging on by a thread, and his husband is now firmly anti-Kaine, more than likely setting up SS and Aracely leaving Houston to avoid arrest.

The Kitty and o5 turn around seems so forced. Didn't Kitty disown Illyana when she came back because she was more soul-less demonic construct than her old friend? Now it's all huggies?

Didn't Jean actually see something that convinced her that the original X-men needed to return home and volunteered to go? And now it's all "a-bloo-bloo we're not wanted here"?

Everything about this continuing "schism" is garbage.

It was an Aaron issue so it seemed like he got to steer it to his X-stuff (some drops about Nightcrawler which hints at his new series coming soon, Schism, Wolverine gladly being Professor Wolverine, etc).

Maybe that's why it fell apart at the end, there was a clear pass of the baton in the end of the event when Bendis should have taken the entire thing.

Actually according to Bendis Aaron was the ringleader of the entire event and plotted the majority of it

I wouldn't be surprised if there was some trading going on. Bendis saying "You can write the last issue, but I get Kitty and the O5 on Uncanny" or something.

But Bendis already had Kitty and the O5 in ANXM? He could have moved them to Uncanny whenever he wanted, they have been his characters from the start of Now.

Maybe not, though. Remember, Kitty was originally a major player in Wolverine and the X-Men, which was not one of Bendis' books. Heck, that's where her relationship with Bobby started. Its very possible that at the time he was conceiving ANXM he was told he couldn't move Kitty out of the Jean Gray School.

Oh, the random awesome speculation of the internal company politics of a comics company where I am just randomly making stuff up! I would like to say I do not believe that what this post says is true, I'm just giving a random possibility, maybe one from an alternate timeline, even! :P

Something from Sandman Overture, but what I don't really know. The art is breath-taking throughout, which makes picking a single moment incredibly difficult. Maybe the scene with Destiny. Or maybe this. I really don't know. So hard to pick.

So when do the X-Men ever fight anyone other than themselves?

As for Infinity, all I can think is
How this looks like a setup for the beginning of Avengers Forever.

So when do the X-Men ever fight anyone other than themselves?

Well, they did fight the Avengers last year.....

The Fox #1 by Mark Waid and Dean Haspiel; "Paul Patton was a photo-journalist who couldn't seem to find the story. So Paul donned the costume of the Fox, to make the story come to him. Now, the story won't stop!"
    cDpm8UU.jpg

Waid and Haspiel knocked it out of the park with this issue. I love this character, I love this creative team, and I want this series to run for as long as Waid and Haspiel want to do it. Go check it out.

Prophet #40 by Brandon Graham, Simon Roy, Giannis Milonogiannis, Matt Sheehan, and Malachi Ward; "An eye that has been shut for thousands of years... opens."
    DWp1caT.jpg

    BADROCK!

Five Ghosts #6 by Frank Barbiere and Garry Brown; "I expected more of an old friend."
    jLxMvxD.jpg

After being kind of lukewarm on the initial mini-series, especially when it came to the glacial pacing, this issue really won me back. It's a fun little done-in-one, that builds to the next arc.

Saga #15 by Brian Vaughan and Fiona Staples; "Nun Tuj Nun!"

    Waid's pretty salty.

Considering all the deaths that happen in such super hero movies a snapped neck is almost tame.

Considering MoS took a great deal of inspiration from Waid's Superman: Birthright, without giving him any credit whatsoever, and then turned it into disaster porn, I'd say Waid has lots of room to be "salty".
