they literally use the High Moon designs in both Robots in Disguise and More Than Meets the Eye for Starscream, Skywarp, Soundwave, Shockwave, Bumblebee, Ironhide, and others, mostly in RID
and the new designs for both arent that far off

To be fair I'm only going off what I've seen posted here and I usually can't tell anyone apart
There was exactly one moment in the film where I went "Okay, maaaaaybe this is a little over the top"
but the rest of it was just great.
Well which bit?
Teleporting back and forth across worlds during the middle of the "final battle".
I thought that was really well done!
it added a nice twist on the usual final fight scene

It really distinguished what otherwise would've been a pretty standard brawl and added tons of humor into the mix. And yeah, just really well executed all around. I loved it.
I'm not even sure they're aware they're doing things.
I was thinking about it earlier this week, how Marvel meetings vs DC meetings must look.
Marvel: "Okay, so we're going to revitalize the brand by rebranding a lot of our lineup with new and interesting stories made to appeal to a broad range of people."
DC: "We still have the Batman license, right? Okay, meeting over, we're good."

I don't think they look great just better than the original designs
For reference, I really like the robot forms in Beast Wars and the redesigns in the High Moon games
