Yeah, we have two heavies: Lanrutcon, the drop-in Sergeant (please don't hit me!) and Rainfall. Those with a flamer MEC are going to see us through the corpse humpers rather handily.
We've missed the deadline for more sats before the end of the month, so really we have 200 fun bucks for infrastructure or equipment. Or we could just bank it towards getting 3 satellites for the next month. Not sure how much Meld we have left, but there is the option to grab a second MEC...

What's the plan Commander? Nab 'We Have Way's and a cash cow or try to fight down the panic?
it would be an exceedingly lucky break if the terror mission occured in asia. (it can happen)
if it does, I'm not saying we should force ourselves, but if the fight permits it we should strive for an all excellent rating.
panic is wiped out in the targeted country, and its reduced by 2 in all regional countries.

"Good" is about the best you can do now. Enemies prioritize civilians such that even if you dash into the open on your first move to get everyone visible and with no cover so that the enemy can kill you. 60% of them will kill civvies anyway.
I'm extremely impressed by the use we've got out of our new training facilities so far; the few veterans we have aren't at all shy when it comes to showing new faces the ropes.
Delta-3 in particular has given-up a lot of her rec hours to take rookies out to the firing & munitions range. We smuggled-in a silver membership card for her; hope she has fun with it.
...She'll have to wait until she gets back to take advantage of it, though. Something happened to an armored convoy carrying precious cargo through France, destined for HQ-CASTLE. We've deployed a field team to investigate.
I couldn't tell you why, but something's giving me a bad feeling about this op.
I'm not sure I quite understood what was happening, was EXALT working with the aliens or on their own? Do the aliens care about EXALT at all? It feels like they worship the technology the aliens bring but the two sides aren't really with each other. Exalt just wants more tech and works against XCOM to get it.

Brother Retaba, do you even read our mission statements (Or wiki page)? We will aid the travelers in evolving mankind, and then we will rule the world.
No...it's not. The bomb missions are....tame compared to portent.
Depends on the mission. With portent you have a lot of high cover, can take your time, and the thin men drops are generally sparse(especially on classic) and not in cover. Bomb missions...
Well lets just say that if you get your first mission as a bomb mission on Murderstreet 2: Murderderbridge you're gonna get fucked.

Of course that could of been from all the new genetic upgrades! I'm not really sure. I just wanted to know if I should work with the aliens or shoot them and take their stuff to help us rule the world.

EXALT and the aliens just stay out of one another's way. EXALT because they're opposed to opposing the aliens and the aliens stay out of EXALT's way because they have more important things to worry about.
But in the case of Portent, both EXALT and the X-rays are after the same thing, so in this one instance they clashed.
...and keep in mind that he was insanely lucky throughout the whole thing.
On his Thursday XCOM stream, which I don't know if he played before or after recording this video, he successfully completed Portent with no deaths and little snags (getting tagged by Thin Man death poison because he thought his assault was high enough to avoid it was about the worst thing), so it's definitely doable if you know how the mission works before hand.

Yeah, as was true with the original release - once you figure out the patterns in the council missions, they're pretty straightforward.
For business reasons, I must preserve the outward sign of sanity.

The first time he did it he rushed for the exit and should have known it was a bad idea. Its an escort so you know thin men be dropping. And you know they drop on the VIP movements. So you just go slow and set everyone into overwatch each turn then murder them when they came up(then reload before moving). The only rough patches you would have would be the ones it drops on the roof before you get there(if you're in a tight formation) and the one it drops way in the back like a dick.

I managed to do that once too. Well, on classic.
Then the game bugged out, and wouldn't let me activate the VIP.

its so awesome to be using a modified GAU-8...
(its definitely not an m134 minigun. the ammunition for that is the 7.62 round, and the best it can do is saw a tree in half after about 20 seconds of fire. a GAU-8 with 30mm rounds knocks baseball sized holes in concrete that's about 1 foot thick.)
edit** actually, looking over some pictures, it *could* be an m197 gatling

Just promise me that when the terror missions hits we bunker down and use explosives. We do the sensible thing. Screw the civvies.
Alternatively, we could try being the finest goddamn heroes this planet will ever see.

The pot is now open. Taking bets on how many go to the infirmary/morgue.
I'm not optimistic.
If anyone wants a preview of what's coming, you can watch BeagleRush try this mission on Impossible:

Did I mention how much I don't like needles? Orientation was a bit... hazy.
Of course that could of been from all the new genetic upgrades! I'm not really sure. I just wanted to know if I should work with the aliens or shoot them and take their stuff to help us rule the world.
Hmmm, that last part sounds a lot like XCOM.
And XCOM is getting sent in to clean up the mess.
