For those on the pc just getting into Warframe, I run with people on vent doing all sorts of stuff. You should jump on if you are playing, we have a ton of fun.

Been running missions on Eris trying to find Electric Crawlers for the Toxic shotgun mod.
I seem to average about one electric crawler per 75-100 enemies.
This is agonizing.
After this, maybe I'll go try to get Jagged Edge (+Slashing damage mod for melee) off Corpus Elite, which is a rare drop.
It'd be nice if they had the good sense to not put the most basic mods on some of the rarest enemies in the game. Put the weird shit on there, not the stuff you need to actually utilize their new damage system.
Yup. It's perfectly possible to never ever buy a platinum in this game (just spend the starting platinum on weapon and warframe slots) and still enjoy it.
And then they have this smooth curve where regardless of your budget there is something tasty for you.
Everything from the "Squeeze every little drop" buy-only-slots approach to "Muzak and Potatoes" to "Budget limitations? What budget limitations?".
I really disagree. Potatoes alerts are so rare that as a free-to-play player you will gain mastery levels at a fraction of the speed a paying player gains them.
What I advice is to get the 1k platinum bundle. I'm almost at mastery 8 with over 400 platinum left, and that after buying Darvos Deal twice yesterday. I would be further ahead if I played more regularely.
Volt (I hear he's good in 11 (PS4 is still on update 10), plus I like lightning themed stuff)
2 weapon potatoes
1 frame potato
Saturated colors
Thinking of spending another $5 to get another frame potato, and maybe a reactor for the Rhino I'll farm with my new Volt.
Volt is super fun these days with tons of utility thanks to his varied powers. He is still a bit of a Corpus specialists but he can at least hurt the other two factions reliably now. His powers in general are much improved over what they used to be. His #1, for instance, used to require a chicken sacrifice just for the chance for it to arc. Now it's god damn chain lightening courtesy of Zeus.

If you have enemies around you, aim it into the ground and watch things explode.
Without Focus and/or Storm helmet Shock stops one-shotting at around level 15-20 vs Grineer (the top content on Phobos). That's pretty high compared to what it used to be.

don't ever let the grineer or the corpus find out about that column grease in the obstacle course. that's like the one thing in this game that's held me up for any amount of time.
finally beat the obstacle course, though. 1m54.12s

What do potatoes have to do with mastery levels? "Free to play" players will gain mastery levels at pretty much the same rate as paying ones unless they pay for those XP booster items, but those are a waste of money as they are in all games that feature them.
I use it on Volt due to him having something nuts like 800 shields on my build. It's a pretty important mod card if you're going to be going fucknuts crazy boosting your shield HP.

You're right. I think my brain just went full retard there. Though the point still holds true for slots. Yes, you can delete warframes and weapons after mastering them, but that's kinda dumb considering the whole game consists of collecting weapons and warframes. Pokemon is also a game about collecting stuff, and there's a reason it doesn't make you delete your old pokemon to catch new ones.
Man, I cannot find a Focus mod. Been farming t1 survivals and nothing.

Use the trading channel of farming a specific mod is causing you a lot of pain. I spent 20p combined on multishot + infected clip which for my gorgon was a game changer. Prices vary wildly and usually if you wait 10 mins you can find someone selling stuff dirt cheap. I got the power pool% for 5p which makes nova that much more ridikalous.
Of course last night I hit rank 6 and my soma came out of the oven this morning, which looking at the stats I might never take out the gorgon again. I really like the look of the gorgon, reminds me of something out of early 90's anime. The soma looks stupid as shit imo.

Focus is a really hard one to get. Keep running those survival missions. It might also drop during a Valkyr grind, because Alad V has a chance of dropping it ("Aaaaaalad". Frohd Bek has the second best comments. Sargas Ruk and his Greedy Milk is still the best one).
P.S: I finally got my hands on Tactical Pump. Now that's another mod that's seriously hard to get.

Haha I didn't even realize a shotgun reload mod existed, i figured with how common rifle/pistol was they just left it out for balance reasons or it was nightmare/key stuff. Turns out its just on a boss that can drop loot through the floor and from a rare enemy type, awesome.

two mods I've been chasing are the shotgun multishot and rifle lightning element mod. terrible luck getting either of those, even though i have a bunch of other rare ones.
since trading is a thing now, we should list what mods have been eluding us and maybe we can help one another out.
Man, getting 75% power efficiency sounds kind of ridiculous.
I assume by the point you can do that, a normal strength ultimate doesn't do very much?
75% power efficiency is awesome. Pop ultimates for 25 energy! Combine with a maxed flow mod, and on some frames you can do that 18 times in a row without needing energy orbs.

Seriously Thinking about buying the Miter guys but I have a few questions
-Apparently it uses sniper ammo? does that mean it only uses sniper mods too? If not does it use regular rifle mods?
-To do max damage it must be charged - Is there a mod that reduces charge time?
-I plan on using it primarily on defense and survival missions with my Vauban (I want to keep my distance) Good idea?
-How is it for regular mission?

1. All rifles (including sniper rifles, bows and launchers) can use rifle mods.
2. Speed Trigger (RoF) reduces charge time.
3. Dunno. The miter is a "mow them down in a line" type of weapon, which does mean that you could deal some devestating damage in the opening moments of each wave. However, the charge speed is as low as that of a bow and I've always found that bows fire too slowly for Defense (although not necessarily for survival).
4. Fairly good vs infested since it's good vs tight groups and deals lots of slashing damage. Not so good vs the rest.

Boltor, I want to like the Latron and haven't tried it since 2.0 but that thing was awful before then.
Boltor's good for basic stuff, Paris is okay if you want something different, new bow may be good I dunno, Vectis for overkill, Hek's okay for leveling, Soma when you're at Mastery Rank 6.
Also Kunai, Sicarus, Lex for sidearms.
And Gram/Galantine/Orthos are good melee, what mastery rank are you right now?

Reactors aren't nearly as coveted by me, since acquiring warframes is usually a slower process which lets the alerts keep up.
Yeah, I've bought at most like 3 potatoes. All of them catalysts

It's pretty fantastic for large shield pools. I've been running it for mid game, and havent regretted it.
