That's a passive participle; nearly all action verbs can take this form.

man lying here watching bad TV would be much nicer if I could, instead, lie here with Mrs Emerald Eyes looking more at her and her pretty eyes than the TV

and this could have happened had I thought to bloody invite her

wouldn't have thought to stop smoking for a while if she was here, tho

    silver lining I guess

In Oregon, today, a new law is in effect that you're not allowed to smoke in your car if someone under 18 is a passenger.

Anti smoking laws are interesting in their effect.

My anecdotal experience has been that people smoke because others around them do, and the gradual narrowing of opportunities to be around other people while they smoke (unless already a smoker) means I suspect that new smokers will, in the future, primarily be drawn from the set of people whose parents smoke.

The evening news stated it was an attempt to cut down on second-hand smoke.

Well yes, they invariably are, but such laws also have the secondary effect of segregating the act of smoking away from non-smokers.

I was just musing about anti smoking laws in general.

Folks in NYC were talking about banning ecigs in public because they were making nicotine useage acceptable and eroding the stigmatization the managed to create around smoking. That's very much a thing.

Even e-cigs? Sounds like those East Coast weirdos are one step away from enacting zero tolerance policies. Lollipop stems can no longer be white! Suspension for any students pantomiming cigarette use and "blowing smoke" on freezing cold days!

do you actually believe this shit or is weird meta humor with you

For once my feet aren't actively lowering the temperature in my apartment. And I'm not even wearing socks!

    I have notoriously cold feet.

I was wearing socks and under 2 blankets and a comforter. Still cold.

So I went and took a shower so hot that my skin is noticeably more red then before.

But now the water droplets are cooling on my skin.

my thoughts have been changing over the last 6-12 months

I mean, yes I like portland

but also it was super expensive to move this time and soy makes things harder (babysitter, daycare, pediatrician, etc)

so we'll probably be moving less often I think and that's the main reason I like renting is because I can make relatively quick decisions about location

the only trade off is when that one really super-sports-fan gets super drunk and becomes obnoxious. usually a rare occurrence if you choose the right bar, though.

taxes are a pain if you don't meet the minimum capital gains.

other than that, you only take a bath on a house if can't sell it with enough margin to make back your equity and financing fees.

Man I really think I'd benefit from You Need a Budget on the Steam sale today because I've been trying to make a budget forever, especially during uenmployment.

But the reason I need to get better at budgeting is precisely why I can't afford it.
