So we should have 14.14 more characters announced by release, assuming Sakurai doesn't go crazy and start making like, every day a character update on release week to make all of the prospective customers explode with anticipation.

I now expect Sakurai to announce .14 of a character.
"Here's a new character! It's... an arm.
It can unleash a volley of powerful punches, and carry things.

Why did I put this in the game? You don't have time to ponder this, as the arm has just grabbed a smash ball"

Your Mii pulls out a whistle and blows it organizing all your miis and all the other generics you face or can make ( you know the ones from when you base it off something else) and they come running out in a stampede of miis trouncing anything in its path, with the last one doing one of the random bows they make when you finish creating one.

I thought the "Popeye" game eventually became Donkey Kong?
Popeye is seriously in my top 5 arcade games of all time - I absolutely love it. I keep wishing that it will hit the VC in NES form, but I'm pretty sure Namco holds the rights to the character (they had a GBA game awhile back with him).
I'm really excited by the Ice Climbers' return. They look better than ever!
Pikmin would make a great assist trophy - they could run around and grab all the other items on the screen and drop them at your feet so you could use them. Of course, they aren't selective, so if one of those objects happens to be a bomb about to detonate you have to run from them as well...at least that's how I'd invision them.
So, if I'm not mistaken, the list of potential cuts from Melee is now:
Falco, who I could see showing up as a costume for Fox
Dr. Mario, for which the above goes for Mario
Young Link, since WW Link is probably too much to hope for
Pichu, because Pichu blows
Game & Watch, who's pretty much complete coin toss at this stage
Ness, who might be given blond hair and different stripes.
Marth, who might've gotten dumped for Ike
Roy, because he's the less popular clone of a character who might've gotten dumped for Ike
Jiggs, who, despite being in since the first game, might possibly maybe get dumped to make room for another Pokemon, though this is doubtful
Also, Pikmin would make a great assist trophy, and Pikmin Swarm would make for a really interesting and unique playable character.

Are you kidding, Falco's awesome. He'll likely be retooled and given his own moveset and put in alongside Wolf O'Donnell.
Ness, who might be given blond hair and different stripes.
Marth, who might've gotten dumped for Ike
Ness and Marth are not getting dumped, okay. They have their own unique movesets and would work just fine in this game, there's no reason at all to toss them out. Lucas is not going to replace Ness, they're going to be in the game alongside each other. Same with Marth and Ike. Honestly, I can't see why this is so hard for people to grasp.

There's a Skarmory there too, which can be hard to see as he looks an awful lot like one of the windmills.
That Drifloon's a cool find and all, but I have to say I'm a little disappointed cause I was really hoping to see more child-kidnapping action. The idea of a Drifloon popping out of a Pokeball, tricking/enticing one of the fighters into grabbing its string, then attempting to drag him off stage would be absolutely hilarious.
It would be even better if its success depended on the fighter's weight. Like, it could totally carry Kirby and Jigglypuff around no problem, but Bowser would just grab it and hold on to it for the rest of the match without being fazed and all.

Dammit. I guess the franchise getting cut is Game and Watch then.
Are you kidding me? If this update doesn't simply scream "all of the characters in Melee are returning", nothing will.
This the crowd that insists that everyone we've seen is unlocked from the start because all unlockable characters won't be shown. Because...well...no reason, just cuz.
I'm thinking this stuff is all unlocked. Probably. I know as much as any of you know. Which is Jack shit.
I'm also thinking that either
A.
Snake is one of the first characters
or
B.
SNAKE WILL BE IMPOSSIBLY HARD TO UNLOCK, even moreso because I am not going on any board that tells me how to do anything smash related.
Also, Captain Falcon is cut.
Certain characters I'll unlock on my own and others by pure luck.
I never found out how to unlock Mewtwo till recently, but if MetaKnight, Snake or (pleasepleaseplease)Megaman are locked at the start, I am going to Gamefaqs the SHIT out of them.
As a non-pokemon player, I have to ask, what's it do?
It's a "ghost balloon" pokemon. It attempts to kidnap children with those two stringy yellow hands so it can drag them into the underworld, but it's so light and weak that it just gets pulled along like a regular balloon instead.
It eventually evolves into Drifblim, which looks similar but is shaped like a hot-air balloon.
Tricks little kids to grab onto it so it can make them float away. But, the kids are more than he can float. It's really sad.
I'm trying like hell to find the Drifloon comic (Pokethread vets will know what I'm talking about) but I can't. I leave it to one of you fine fellows to out-Google me.

The updates have been going on for 14 weeks.
There are still... 11 weeks to go?

Master Hand Confirmed!
Also: Ice Climbers! Fuck yeah!!!
The more I see that meme, the funnier it gets.
It'll probably just be a lame Solid Snake clone.
but they keep saying snake is in
and then we play the game and see NEW CHALLENGER APPROACHING: SNAKE
and its just a snake
I can has smash ball?

Me, actually.
Punch-Out!! is my immensely-more-popular-in-the-USA-than-Japan-NES-game of choice. Mike can come only on the condition that Little Mac is in.

I agree. Falco is just so different to Fox that getting rid of him saying Falco players can play Fox is just wrong.

They have spiked shoes.
I should have saved that mother.
they are really paying to attention to every detail when it comes to the models. Even characters' shoes.
