    I fucking hate Superman as a character, but I enjoyed Returns.

    Though, let's be honest, the movie was pretty much directed at:

    a) nerds
    b) film buffs
    c) fans of the first (1 and maybe 2) films
    d) kids who like anything with special effects

    ...everyone else was pretty meh about it. I remember people in the theatre being all disoriented about the plot ("I thought he landed on earth as a kid"). The title sequence threw a lot of them off.

    Probably cause they expected Batman Begins to be a prequel, and then it wasn't. So they expected Superman to do the same reboot thing.

    Anyway yeah. Returns is a movie which I can understand people not liking. However by no means is it a poorly made film (which is why I'll take issue with people who say it "sucked").

    Also: Margot Kidder > Kate Bosworth [as Lois]

    It should have been a reboot. Really, I think that was it's main problem, and if they had rebooted they could've wiped away everything else.

    Kidder is sorta annoying. As a kid I couldn't figure out why Superman wanted her around ("Love" wasn't a good enough reason for my six year old self, surely she had access to GI Joe or Transformer toys).

    I would still take Kidder as Louis over Bosworth.

    Though I wouldn't touch Kidder with a foot long bowie knife...Bosworth on the other hand *meow*
