I've always felt like kind of a shitlord because this game sounds really interesting but I just can't stand the naked lady statue spaceship thing. I like to think the art of a game doesn't have to annoy me even if I don't like it, but one of the reasons I never got into Strike Suit Zero was the whole mecha-Gundam thing they had going on and this is that in spades. I also don't like the whole loosey-goosey flight model that we see in games like this and Strike Vector, which is more akin to the Star Wars Battlefront genus of space combat games than the Freespace genus. But 4v4 space combat is a great concept and I wish the game well.
It is a very pertinent feedback to say the least Tycho
Here's an explanation of the Giant Lady Statue and of the lore of the game:
First of all, I have to justify the fact that nowadays in the videogames' industry, you have to produce a unique feel in your game to be able to stand out and be noticed. This is the main reason why we chose to produce a universe in which things look believeable, but still having over-the-top elements like the GoD as we call it, all the technological stuff floating around, derelict space stations, etc.
Our game is set up 1000 years in the future and in this distant future, humans and other species actually found a way to create matter, so they built automated factories able to produce matter over very long periods of time (like a hundread years, being functionnal full-time). The product of those factories become gigantic statues of astronomical proportions which could have any shape depending of the original creator's choosing. And that's what we call a GoD Factory! GoD in fact means "Graphite or Diamonds", which are the 2 matters which can be created by those factories.
(these 2 matters actually have a simple molecular composition )
Gameplay wise, it may not look as much because the GoDs are far away in the background, but thrust me, amidst the dogfighting and confusion of running away, the gigantc silouette may become one of your landmark to orient yourselves.
Really love the attention to detail.
I have the alpha downloading, and plan to try it out tonight when I get home from work.
Goodluck on the greenlight/KS.

I follow the guys at Ninedot and they just signed a deal with Bandai Namco for the game. I guess it means they are half-indies right now :-) . But I'm sure the game will keep the original its feeling no matter who distribute it.
