I wish they had named it so it had a different acronym from Heart of the Swarm though.
Blizzards new approach of releasing smaller, streamlined, distilled down games is interesting.
Both of Hearthstone and HotS have been side projects turned to full games which is cool.
Still HotS from the streams I have watched is missing that something that makes me like DoTA2. I will try it. Hope it can be the neutral ground game between DoTA folks and LOL folks so I can play with the LOL folks from time to time.
it's a weird moba. they turn some stuff on its head. I dunno about how well different types of players will like it!
I am interested to see how picking your hero before matchmaking blows up the standard idea of a metagame, or not.
no draft mode is weird to me

Hmm, that is interesting.
I made a game! Hotline Maui. Requires mouse and keyboard.
HotS has appeal to me because my big issue with MOBAs tends to be that the matches take way too long and that last hitting is really boring (personally).
Which is why I adored Dominion in LoL, but it was mad unpopular and not well balanced.

It is really the casual moba for drunk mobaing. Which is coo.
I figure it can be a game we can play off and on as [chat] bros and sisters and have some fun. Nothing to serious. Kind of like Hearthstone. Good time killer but not something I am obsessed with.
DoTA gets me in like my ultracompetative mode I notice. I kind of like that now since I have folks to play with. Also I am getting better which is coo. But it would be nice to have a team game where I can just fuck around and have fun with friends as well.
The best antidote for that, Abdhyius, is growing up around family members, friends, and teachers who compliment your hard work and your results rather than complimenting your apparent intelligence directly.
But that developmental boat has sailed.

yeah minions are mostly ignored it seems like right now
Of course, HotS might end up splitting the difference in an odd way. Take away enough MOBA elements from it and why not just make a team based arena fighter? Will the MOBA elements they have left add something or just feel vestigial and tacked on? Would they have been better off making a pure player on player game like Bloodline Champions?
Will be interesting to see.

Someone in the Heroes of the Storm thread mentioned that Blizzard should put in raid bosses into the game.
I would probably play the fuck out of like a Rags or Onyxia character. Be good times.
I killed Onyxia so many times. I used to love finishing the Ony quest chain with people getting attunement.
Alliance had a way better quest chain for that.
Man back in the days when you had to quest to do dungeons.
That is like mind blowing now I guess.
The Alliance side quest for it was a serious "Congrats on being a badass" moment. Show up, guards escorting you because damn right you get an honor guard.

I am curious as well. Total Biscuit is in and he has tons of DoTA and LOL play time under his belt. He sucks but whatever.
He says that HotS has potential but something is missing, and he isn't sure what. The balance needs a lot of work so far. And the team based objectives means there are more rolls than you would think. But at least they are 15 minute steamrolls instead of like 40 minutes of your time. He is a DoTA guy now and says it has more depth but that isn't surprising. But HotS has a surprising amount of depth to it and if Blizzard does it right it could be a really good game.
Also the pricing so far is crazy insane for heroes. Like 7 bucks a pop on average.
Hey if you're still having problems I busted brutal difficulty in plague inc. wide open.
Basically infect a country with a harbor and airport, focus on upgrading air and water transmission until you get bioaerosol, and the first few levels of drug resist/gene hardening to counter resistance. Don't put anything into symptoms because even one point will lead to your plague being found. If you get a mutation devolve it (also get the gene where the devolve doesn't change costs). Wait until the whole planet is infected then go for coughing, pneumonia, pulmonary fibrosis, total organ failure. Use whatever plague type's special as needed (spore burst for spreading fungus)
I have gotten to nanobots so far with this strategy but because they start out discovered gonna have to see how to work this one out.
you did this with fungus? dang
I did it with fungus and the UK as my initial country and got a four star or biohazard or whatever the fuck rating.

Maybe I'm actually an otter myself, deep inside.
I got a little excited when I saw your ship.
I always way preferred clams to oysters, personally.
e: And crab over lobster, for that matter. Maybe my sense of taste is just contrarian.

i also agree
i don't think i've ever had straight up clam. mussels yes but no clam
god damn i love good seafood.
seacrest out
crab also good
"the more legs the better" is my policy on both seafood and ladies
memorizing the camp spawn times
dragging them out just at the right time to stack them for xp later
that is just one example of the minutia of skill needed in that game oh god
I think competitive 5 man dungeon with isometric view is a good description.
Yeah, SC pros and semi-pros are often almost amazingly bad outside their native habitat.
I had to stop watching him because he was playing Uther and would ALWAYS forget that after he dies he can continue attacking
I couldn't take it
I always think of that song when I hear the more recent Killer Mike song.
