okay so judging by how Ted Sallis would end up in the MCU he'd have to have gotten his attempts at the super soldier serum wrong, considering the whole amplifying what's there thing
in the comics he didnt use radiation of any kind for his tests, and bonded with swamp muck as the serum took effect
he lost his considerable intellect and speech, gained empathic powers, durability and strength, the ability to regenerate so long as he's in a swamp, and secretes chemicals that react to the human body experiencing fear with flame

I kinda hope in Age of Ultron they show when he starts to dismantle SHIELD one system at a time they Imply that The Leader uses the loss of their security to steal the location of Abomination and the stinger being he breaks Abomination out of cryo-stasis so we can have another Hulk movie of The Leader collecting Gamma Freaks to try and take over 'Merica!
