Yeah, I didn't get the scales

but it was real cool to disintegrate a dragon with a single spell!

Does anyone read those Final Hours of [Game] things Geoff Keighley does

They seem like a really neat thing and I'm glad he does them but I don't know anyone that's actually read one

the Titanfall one is out this week

The ones for Half-Life and Half-Life 2 are required reading, IMO. Portal 2's was pretty great too.

...I haven't actually read any that weren't for Valve games now that I think of it.

The best thing about Will Smith's Spelunky streams is that he has a custom avatar and Spelunky skin, turning bombs into the Testicles logo, and making the Spelunker with the beard have red hair and beard like Will. Also when he says stupid stuff and you can hear his wife laughing at him from the other room. And that he chats with the viewers pretty frequently.

The worst thing is that he seems pretty awful at the game.

    Streamers:

    -Good at the game
    -Funny
-Not a racist/sexist piece of human garbage.

    Pick two.

    (Or something.)

I've seen every Breaking Brad, so I will gladly take "funny" and "not human garbage" over "good at games".

I love how Max Temkin was so disturbed he couldn't even shill his oatmeal joke.

really, it was only the last video, which was just fucked up. And probably shouldn't have been shown for as long as it was when it became clearly everyone was so uncomfortable.

    Caluclords seems neat.

Makes me wish Ironclad Tactics was on iOS though.

basically the whole movie is Forest doing exactly what he's told by one authority figure or another and falling ass-backwards into fame and fortune, while Jenny is molested as a child, runs away from home, and is shit on by life and society at every turn until she eventually dies. The movie ends up coming across as saying "keep your head down and do what you're told, and you can have anything you want. Stick your neck out, fight to assert your worth as an individual, and actively work to improve your lot in life, and you can go fuck yourself." The idea that Forest manages to succeed despite his mental handicaps is undercut by how tragically Jenny has the life slowly beaten out of her for no sensible reason

    wowzers

somehow I never viewed the movie like this before

and now I don't know that I'll ever view it any other way

I need to know what happened to that spotlight lady if that's real, because that could be a serious, if not fatal, injury.

It looked old enough that we will likely never know

So I choose to believe she is fine and it is hilarious

Forest Gump is a movie that can be interpreted a lot of different ways. I enjoy the movie regardless, but most interpretations that I find particularly convincing are ones commenting on the glorification or at least support of social, and to a much lesser extent political, conservatism. Regardless of how the movie's ideology leans, I still think it's a good film. If nothing else conversations about it can be interesting.

i still like forest as a character, though

I may need to watch Forrest Gump again. I'm not sure if I agree with what's being brought up, but it has been years since I've watched the film.

I never really got the message of "Keep your head down" for Gump. His story seemed to be mostly about someone who was good hearted somehow stumbling his way through life. The idea of authority never really crossed my mind.

I had a a bit in this post about Jenny, but right now I am not sure I can clearly put into words how I feel about that character. I will say, however, that a character that has faced abuse can definitely fall into situations that only further their difficulties. Hell, I've seen that in real life.

@olivaw I remember the first time an Arino match ended like that, I think it was the first round of the GM tourney with Tingle v. Arino. The chat marked the fuck out when he hit his catch finisher.

Honestly, now that I think about it, he's ended at least 3 matches that way.

You know, Shadow Dragon's gameplay was solid

But man did they showcase how flat their original story and characters were while simultaneously making the visuals much worse

Awakening does take forever to get its story going.

    It's great after mission 9.

    It wasn't the story

It was the fact that they set up the game so that you can very easily determine how many hits someone can take from who and build your strategy accordingly

Except oh wait someone crit you an hour into this battle, start over

For me the ratio of getting someone killed because of a silly oversight to getting someone killed because of an unlucky crit is like 100:1
