So Viking's gift of Project Root sent me on a bit of a compulsive shmup spree, since a couple have hit Steam that I've really wanted. So I got them while under the sweet shmup influence. And they are just as rad as I'd hoped. They are very different games too. One is called Gigantic Army, it's from the same guys who made Satazius which is also rad and another sidescroller mech game called Armed Seven that isn't on Steam (c'mon Nyu Media, get this one on Steam too). It's super mechy with cool weapons, jump jets, and a nice solid mech feel. It also has great boss fights.
The other one I grabbed was RefleX, which is part of the Alltynex series of shmups. This is vertical scrolling shmup with an awesome bullet reflecting mechanic. It's pretty straightforward but it's also exquisitely crafted. Check this out if you are a fan of classic vertical scrolling shmups. I'm thrilled to see more of these kinds of games on Steam. There's still a part of me that immediately thinks of shmups when I hear the term video game.
So yeah Steam. More Astro Port games and the rest of the Alltynex games please thank you very much.
Yeah I was going to recommend the Naruto games, they're really really good and the cut-scenes aren't too obtrusive, you can even just play multiplayer (including against the AI) to avoid the story. They look gorgeous too.

Hey guys, don't remember who was having a download issue yesterday, but was the symptom super slow downloads and a downloads page that flickers as the download continuously tries to start? If so, did we figure out a fix? Because that's what I've got.

Yeah that's what going on and it's still happening.
Glad to know it's not just me and that it's pretty much a Steam issue.
Steam has been spotty for me since yesterday. I keep getting put in offline mode at random intervals. Kind of a minor annoyance in comparison but hopefully a little time and it will fix itself?

I see that Shadowrun Returns is on sale and am thinking of grabbing it. Is the Deluxe version worth worth an extra $3.40? And how is the Dragonfall DLC?
My wife has a night shift tonight so I'm on kid duty. Anyone interested in some multiplayer tonight around 9pm EST? I was thinking Sanctum 2 or Risk of Rain or maybe starting one of the DLC characters for Borderlands 2 but I would be up for any of the games I already have.
I'm 90% certain that flying islands is in the same category of buzz words as Space. You can use the formula 'X in floating islands' or 'Floating islands Y' to create instant cool idea.

If you need even more convincing, just check the Zodiac Tournament DLC. This is as kung fu as it gets.

Last time I'll post these. They're almost gone!
That'd be fine if I hadn't reinstalled Steam in an attempt to fix it because now I'm desperately trying to get anything I already have.
Perhaps try switching to the latest beta to see if it resolves your issue. Or is you are already on that then switch to a stable release?
I have the same problem but I can't even play the shit I already have because it needs updating.
Choose beta/non-beta, switch download servers, start Steam as Administrator, choose a bandwidth limit in the options, any of that help?
