Finished the guy's story line in Broken Age. Art is great, premise is interesting. Puzzles are pretty easy, and unfortunately it really just sets things up story wise. Act 2 needs to come out soon.

I have been working my way through a compilation of Lovecraft's works. He did some really neat stuff outside of the Mythos!

which i only know about because of a podcast where Kris Straub was poking fun at the silly retro-futurism of an astronaut with a leather space suit filled with oxygen cubes

He wrote a lot of stuff!

I've gotten up through "The Unnamable" in that list (the compilation I'm reading organized them chronologically), but also read The Case of Charles Dexter Ward and At The Mountains of Madness.

I just got the dragoon class in Bravely Default.

Quite possibly the stupidest costume ever, I love it.

So Firefox 29 is often laggy, freezing up while it loads webpages. I'd recommend avoiding if you still use Firefox. Gonna switch over to chrome until they sort this.

Favorite Lovecraft stuff is the Dream stuff, and the Alien Civilization stuff. Also skip a lot of his... unpleasantness that way.

I, for one, enjoyed the Mako.

Meanwhile, Bombcast Rewind with the few I had on my phone

    May 13th, 2008

    id has announced Doom 4

Jeff and Ryan aren't sure what a modern Doom looks like, and hopefully it doesn't look like Doom 3

They just want a Doom 2 remake

Jeff is curious to see how Kojima wraps up the Metal Gear franchise with 4, and can't wait to see what crazy new stuff he'll come up with now that he'll finally be done with Metal Gear permanently

After watching Giant Bomb's Skyrim pre-show where Dave played through Morrowind and Oblivion and now watching one where they're playing Daggerfall I kinda got the urge to do a relatively blind LP stream of Daggerfall.

I don't know why really, especially since it took them 30 minutes and like 2 restarts to figure out how to swing the sword.

I also don't buy the "kojma's trapped" thing

If he wanted to do something else at another studio he could.

    i think it's half-true

i think he could go do something different if he wanted to, but he most likely wouldn't get the same level of budget or creative freedom. Metal Gear is a tried and true franchise that sells a lot of copies, so konami is presumably willing to let him take a few more risks than they might otherwise

so the only way to keep making games at the scale that he wants to make them is to stick to MGS

The theory is pretty much that all of Kojima's not-Metal Gear ideas have been folded into Metal Gear

Cause it would take some doing to sell a new franchise

But if he just says it's a Metal Gear game he'll get $All The to make it
