It's not like you're all that smart anyway, Malachi... At least we got some world-building here, which is always nice.

Sooner or later, someone REALLY NEEDS (I can't stress this enough!) to teach Seventeen how to read. Seriously - it would give Malachi something productive to do for his character, IMHO.

Looks like we see a legitimate older character who's been on the island awhile now
the cat is on the roof in the fourth panel [\spoiler]

I knew there was a reason she X'd her name on his card!
I had the idea then that perhaps her real name is something like Stephanie, but due to dyslexia and/or poor education she writes it like Seventeen (Sephatine?)
I like Malachi's look of genuine concern there. It's nice seeing something bug him like that; reminding us that there's a heart under his brattiness.
And hey, a borderline adult! ...or an early bloomer...

*gasp* Do I sense... Continuity! Are we starting another mini arc? yay!

Also I laughed a little too long at "But who needs reading when there are sticks to toss in the lake?"... Then I remembered there are people that ACTUALLY think like that and I got a bit sad :p

Great comic as always Katie and a fairly tricky stealth kitty.

I love this comic, but feel sorry for Seventeen. I also loved the group picture, but is there a cat in the group?

    A library.

The hopeful smile the librarian has when Malachi showed excitement seems to hint that there's probably a lot of campers that can't read.

"Everything makes you happy! / Yeah..." + "...I can't read." = ignorance is bliss?

(Personally, I feel bliss is overrated.)

Hmmm... did he "just drop them" out there, or is it a carefully crafted trail to lure those of the literary persuasion into a trap?

Daverice: Yes there is a cat.

CurryP: Sometimes tossing a stick in the lake is just tossing a stick in the lake.

Seems risky, throwing a book in the lake might end up being as fun as throwing a stick in the lake.

Also poor Seventeen, she's adorable and her parents must have been the worst people in the world.

Poor lil' Seventeen, yet to discover the joys of reading. Will Malachi rise to the challenge and educate his small friend?

The cat has a mouse to chase; cool.

It is hard not to feel sorry for Seventeen. She does however seem perfectly happy in her own version of the world. You go Seventeen!

Gosh, early Linus! This threw me off a lot, I stared at this page for a little while. In the words of NikkieTutorials, "I am shook to death"! No truer phrase has ever been spoken.
