Party in the CIA is my favorite track from Alpocalypse. That or maybe TMZ.

    Or the aforementioned Skipper Dan.

    Pff.

Chuck Norris facts will always be funny in the same way that Who's on First is still funny.

I feel that was kind of the point.

also the juxtaposition of ridiculous tough stories with fucking charles nelson rielly

Okay maybe the fact that I have no idea who CNR is wasn't helping my sarcasm detector.

Don't get me wrong I fucking love me a dumb chuck norris fact.

But Who's on first is pure fucking perfection.

I dunno it just felt like he was listing off a dozen of them, didn't feel all that ironic to me

there wasn't a line about how he's sick of hearing about Charles Nelson Riley or anything.

I think the fact that it was about Reilly, a not "super manly" guy like how the original Vin Diesel or Chuck Norris facts were, was an attempt to make it satirical and point out how silly it was.

I used to find Skipper Dan incredibly depressing, until I went to Disney World and met the Skippers that worked there

they're mostly retired people who've dreamed of working at Disney their entire life, or who moved to florida after retirement and got a job working at Disney because why not

and now I can laugh at that song because I see it as ridiculous

and also I have my retirement plan in place, which is "move to florida, dispense puns to strangers whilst wearing a skipper hat"

Jungle Cruise always rules at FloPAX.

We are kinda the perfect audience for it and the guides really get into it.

Not the pronoun, but rather a player with the unlikely name of "Who" is on first.

he was a genuinely funny guy and one the main reasons that show worked as well as it did

yeah that was basically the show

it was only technically a game show in that there were random people who could potentially win prizes maybe

one of the other neat things about that interview is Weird Al mentions that each of his albums has been more popular in terms of sales and downloads than the last, so instead of his career petering out as he passes middle age, he's at the height of his career.

Didn't they also film a week of shows at once, and get progressively drunker as the shows advanced, or is that a myth?

Just more reason to want to be there.

I hadn't realized that Lynwood -> Apocalypse was the longest ever span without a new Weird Al album. Five years is way too long.

This is his last album under his current contract and he's mentioned that he is considering the possibility of going to a strictly digital distribution model, which would allow him to release parodies individually in a much more timely matter. When he started, hit songs stayed on the charts longer and it was easier to put out an album full of songs that were still relevant.
