The Phillips CDI: Did anything ever come out for this piece of shit that was worthwhile?

...Just sort of wondering, because lo and behold, one was found by a young relative and they are wondering about games for it.

Everything I can find so far has been awful 'learning' games, or trololol reviews of the awful Zelda/Mario games.

The comedy that is the Zelda game is the only thing I can think of.

The only game that I can think of that would be remotely worth owning is Burn:Cycle.

Defender of the Crown, Flashback, Lemmings, Micro Machines, The 7th Guest all had pretty decent CDi versions.

Well, as far as the CDi goes anyhow... You might as well play all of those titles on other systems with better controls and graphics.

Where does the CDi (CD-I? CDI? Fuck this thing) fit as far as performance goes? Is it closer to Super Nintendo / Sega, or closer to something like the Saturn?

Think somewhere between an SNES and a 3DO.

Most CDi games fall into one of 3 categories: Simplistic game design with LOTS of Full Motion Video (On rail shooters, a Space Invader clone or casino game with a live action host, stuff like that.), ports of other new at the time CD games (7th Guest, Flashback), and "Interactive Movies" (Voyeur and Burn Cycle fall here, you might see a few of these re-released as DVDs these days)

Honestly, the CDi is a warning tale that ultimately, the only one who gets screwed in revenge is the the perpetrator.
