I like the bonus kitty in the last panel, bit obvious for my taste though.

GAAA! Where are its pupils? Are they rolled back into its head, like when a shark feeds?

I like the idea of Colin deciding that Malachi's hair poses some sort of safety risk. Either that, or he doubles as the camp's fashion police...

I'm reading Seventeen's line as, "There is SOOO a mountain lion!" and it's hilariously awesome.

For a second there I thought the Mountain Lion was the kitty. Though the actual kitty was easy too.

If you look, the pupils are teeny tiny, and focusing DIRECTLY on the tip of Seventeen's finger.

    I SPOTTED THE KITTY

IF *that* came in the 'feral feline' crate, THEN i'm a monkey's uncle! /pedantic_asshattery :D

anyway, found the little ball of fur...
in the last panel, if you follow 17's arm to her hand, her index finger appears to be almost picking the nose of the kitteh *

    * no, the spoiler format is not broken; i'm just testing the [ c o d e ] format in a facetious manner

Kittie is too obvious, I will continue my search for second secret kitty.

That is one ginormous mountain lion! I thought it was the cat, but I found another more discrete kitty. Well, with a mutant mountain lion on the loose, I'd say camp life is about to get interesting. Maybe Purdy will poach it.

So does the mountain lion count as a second kitty? Did they do a mountain lion drop box this time?

Kitty is above all this nonsense.

At first glance, I thought the lion was flipping the kids the bird. And yeah, that's, the most intense cat face I've seen for ages. Reminds me of this :

Where'd you see it? I want to be sure I'm as far away from that place as possible.

Minto-Brown Park in Salem, Oregon. It ran across the road, stopped halfway, looked at us for a moment, and then ran the rest of the way across the road and dove into the bushes. We were in a car with the windows rolled up, which made it a lot cooler and less scary than otherwise. I was surprised by how fast it moved-- there's no way anyone could outrun it. Cursory googling reveals a top land speed of about 50 mph. That's a fast cat.

Let's see... At 50 mph, it could definitely be close to the Seattle area by now. Assuming it ran through the night.

It was heading North... What's the opposite of a consolation?

It's not a housecat, it's a campcat... or a feral cat that occasionally visits the mess hall looking for a free meal. Either that or it's just Ceiling Cat moonlighting as a rafter cat.

Am I the only one that wants to see Seventeen befriend the mountain lion in the name of the animal kindness league (sorry I can't remember what it's actually called), and then just start randomly riding it around places?

  • ninjaininjai Registered User regular
Found the cat. I found it.

The kid in the back of panel 6.

I don't have anything to say about him. I just wanted to draw your attention to him.

  • AShanksAShanks Registered User new member
Is it my imagination, or has the last panel been redrawn with a smaller lion?

    Cat's aren't endurance runners.

Also, humans which aren't couch potatoes can run down a deer in open ground.
Humans very much are endurance runners.
A fact that's obscured by our modern lifestyles.

  • AdamRWAdamRW Registered User regular
Oh, so that's why the mountain lion never showed up.

And now I also know why I've had such trouble running down deer lately. I should probably get off this couch and start getting in shape.

Big kitteh has been around for at least 101 comics, just lurking out of sight...
