So, uh, yeah. That's a thing that happens apparently.

Yeah, it's not the first time. About six years back a kid died because he lost control on a small automatic. Most people tend to assume that a lightweight gun is great for kids to try but light weight guns tend much harder to control the recoil on, so basically they are the worst guns to give to kids .

all I know is that when my dad was younger than I am now he could buy a house for something like 3x his gross annual salary as a fairly poor journeyman carpenter

I'm looking at 4x my gross annual salary as a software developer with 10 years experience earning 3x the median household income

Yeah this is not the first story I've seen involving a small child killing someone because it turns out Uzis are Uzis.

I'm not saying anyone deserves to be shot and killed by a 9 year-old with an uzi but like.... if you give a 9 year-old an uzi then...

I almost dropped the Glock the first time I shot one. Never made that mistake again, but I haaaaate lightweight guns now.

Mine is rechambered for .22, so the recoil is pretty light. But yeah, people tend to underestimate lighter guns.

Yeah I kind of look at it like, what could my Mom or Dad afford to do vs the hours they worked at what kind of job.

And yeah they could have a car payment and live on their own and travel on a part time job making not much more than minimum wage.

Help me science people, you are my only hope. I am editing my table of significant results in the literature, and for some reason one source convinced me that all significant results should be marked with a * , if the variable wasn't studied, it should be marked with a dash ( - ), and if it's insignificant, it should be marked with a 3. Yup, the number 3. I know that's weird and not the status quo, so I'm wondering what you usually see/do for insignificant results? I don't want my table to be weird.

Wow, Tim Schafer is getting threats and whinage twittered his way because, shock of shock, he's not an MRA.

The anti-Sarkeesian movie that people are trying to get funded resulted in me perusing various youtube channels of MRA types.

It eventually got too creepy, so I had to stop trying to sate my morbid curiosity.

I should play D3 again. I barely touched it after running through the expansion, and I liked it enough that I uninstalled Torchlight 2 and PoE just because I was having the most fun with that one.

But I also have the attention span of a mentally ill cat, so I think my dinner might be almost ready to pull out of the oven.
