I just...I don't know if I get 'it' anymore after reading this comic.
My faith in humanity is shaken when I see something like this; I don't know if they're joking about how bad it could be, or if they're overtly trying to tell us that they have encountered such tormented personalities.

Yelling at butts will never NOT be funny. Thanks, Psy!
Also, Abby is awesome. Keep up with TLH because it's the tits!

I love League of Legends, but seriously...screw you, Teemo.

I'm pretty sure they've done one like this before and it was absolutely true. Maybe this one is the same.
Maybe these guys were intending to be funny? And just took it too far. You get people like that.

This is oddly relevant considering the recent photo leaking of several female celebs.

You famous people are here to get us off. Even if you don't want to.

Also where the hell is Khoo? I thought he'd be the real life version of Tube keeping the fucking weirdos away from the talent?

Man, I thought it was going to be a bad morning because I had to throw my coffee away. This comic made it all better. I laughed out loud! With snorts even! Tycho's face and trembling hand in the first panel are fantastic.

Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.

This happens a fair bit at comic cons, especially with strangers who feel a sense of familiarity with a celebrity / popular figure.

Even when I cosplay and have people coming up to take pictures with me, some people will say or do things that are just totally inappropriate for a first-meeting interaction.

The most bizarre ones usually happen with internet celebrities that are personas and "those" viewers that just don't seem to "get" the difference. James Rolfe for example is extremely different in person from his AVGN persona, and I've known some people who ravenously disliked him because they thought his AVGN persona was how he actually was as a person and never bothered to learn that there is a difference.

Is there a significance to the spelling of "Accommodations" with only one "m"? I would understand "Acconodations", but if there's a joke in "Accomodations" with one "m", I don't get it.

I just assumed it was a typo. They happen sometimes... maybe I should read more into though.

Indeed. I've followed their comics since the start, and they've had a few like this.
I hate getting philosophical and shit, but the previous ones always felt like a gross exaggeration (being that I've never been to a con before, sadly), and that there was a disjointed reality of what was true versus what they blew out of proportion to make an entertaining comic.
I suppose I've just become more aware that there are some weird fucks out there that I just haven't been 'privileged' to encounter yet, and that made me uncomfortable to realize how true this comic could be.
But, upon subsequent viewings, I find it less dark than I originally felt.

I've been reading their comics since Mike was doing illustrations on GameSpy. I watch the videos, I read the comics and posts, and listen to the pod casts. I feel that I am very familiar with them. So much so that if I ever were to meet them I'm not sure that it would be possible for me not to be creepy towards them. They feel like old friends I've known for over a decade, but in fact I'm just some huge dude they've never even seen before.

I've got to imagine that for some really introverted guys out there who don't have enough experience in interpersonal relationships, that it's really easy to go overboard and not even realize that they've stepped way over the normal societal bounds.

The best way to know how to handle meeting a celebrity you are a huge fan of:

Watch professional interviews conducted by people who are obviously giant fans of their subject. Notice the lack of over-the-top gushing and creepy behavior? Act like that.

Whenever I meet bands at concerts or things like that I just introduce myself and shake their hand, thank them for all their hard work, and ask them to keep going. Sometimes I ask for a picture or to sign something, but more often than not I express my gratitude and then leave, which I would think is what any famous person would want from meeting their fans.

Ok, so asking questions is forbidden too. You should add that to rules-section then but naturally since it is not there, you are not actualizing rules here but just pushing your own arbitrariness.

If stating own opinion, posting pictures and asking questions is being a dick in your opinion, how the hell do people live in your land ?? They must be all like in one PA-comic : " Good luck ! ", " Good luck ! ", " You got me that time. ", " Good luck ! "

Most interesting to see how much pain and agony the usage of my basic rights awakes in you. Real mature admin job, very nice indeed.

I always have in my head the intention of acting completely normal if I ever meet anyone with a celebrity status, thinking they'd rather be treated like a regular person than to have me go "OHHH WOWWW YOU'RE ALL FAMOUS LEMME TAKE A PICTURE".

This resulted in me taking it too far and completely blowing off Newton Faulkner when he politely asked if I'd like to get in on a picture with him.

It's interesting that they have the pre-picked Q&A now and mention that the signing/photos is people's only chance to interact with them. I've always been curious, especially after all the crazy social media drama (for lack of a better term) Mike has found himself in the middle of, if anybody ever just threw an incredibly difficult or inappropriate or accusatory question at their feet. Does security just escort that person away never to be seen again? Do they just skip to the next question? It seems like having a live Q&A could be really dangerous nowadays.

On the topic of social awkwardness. A few PAX Easts ago some huge fan of Tim Schafers with a loose grasp ownership rights and subtlely showed up at his panel with like a 200+ page or more document that I think was just FILLED with signatures from some fan forum about how they wanted him and Double Fine to make the next Sam & Max game, etc. What followed was what felt like 10 minutes of Tim trying to shoot this guy down as nice as possible as the guy kept shoving the documents into his hand like they would magically solve all the issues Tim was talking about in regards of being able to do something of that scope/level. Kudos to Tim for hanging in there as long as he did, if I remember right he just took the signatures and said "Ok, sure, I'll get right on that." and then started taking new questions.

The "Gabe" character in the comic (like all normal human beings and especially like the child-like, dumb sort of person that he is) does not always speak in sentences that are perfectly grammatically correct. If you ever listen to a recording of people having a conversation and try to transcribe every single word, you'll quickly notice that even the most erudite people rarely talk in grammatically perfect complete sentences. Add to this the characterization of Gabe in the comic and the humor value inherent in certain ways of phrasing things and hopefully you will understand why a line like "Why do you got an erection?" might end up in a word bubble in a comic about people trying to get a gaming celebrity to jack them off.

This reminds me of the SNL sketch where Chris Farley (as himself) had an interview show with Paul McCartney. That was a good one. It's a shame NBC are huge butts about people posting SNL clips online.

I think being polite can work wonders.. Once asked World Superbike star Aaron Slight for a photo.. His PR crew were so shocked that someone actually asked instead of shoving a camera in his face we got invited into the Honda hospitality suite for drinks and grub and . . . well probably more, but then we saw Carl Fogarty going past and chased him down through the paddock.
