Also, the idea that feminism has "won" and that #GamerGate has "lost" is false. The main fallout from #GamerGate specifically includes people like Jenn Frank quitting because of harassment. The general tone in gaming is still overtly misogynistic - the PA forums are an exception, but check out, for instance, Blue's News, which is pretty much just a non-stop hotbed of misogyny, or drop by Gamespot or something.

There's also the fact that their letter writing campaign to advertisers is apparently working: http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-intersect/wp/2014/10/20/inside-gamergates-successful-attack-on-the-media/

Journalists silenced for having the wrong opinions.

And the ridiculous comments to that story shows us that the misogyny is still very alive.

The connection between this conversation and the comic is becoming increasingly tenuous. This is not the general gamergate thread.

Is there a general GameGate thread? Because I went looking for one when I initially wanted to vent about it and never found one, just references to it in the various industry threads. It could well be that I just suck at searching the forums though.

There was one in D&D. It got closed.

Edit: Actually I think the one I was thinking of was in G&T. The one in D&D only lasted for a few posts before also getting locked.

I got permission to start a D&D thread about it for people interested in continuing to discuss GG: http://forums.penny-arcade.com/discussion/193860/gamergate-stop-being-jerks-on-the-internet-edition#latest
