There are a bunch of parrots that live up and down the coast (Monk Parakeets, I think). Every now and then you see some. I caught this guy on a walk to the beach.
Nucsh, got any pointers for photographing out of the airplane? I can't seem to get rid of either a reflection or an odd sort of haze which isn't there when I look outside...
Buy a circular polarizer, they are so handy and take care of both of those problems. Skies usually look way more vibrant with them too.
They come in lots of sizes, according to the diameter of the lens, which you can find by looking next to the O with a line through it on the front of your lens, in case you didn't know.
Yeah, but I'm using a simple camera (Sony DSC-600) which is your basic point-and-shoot machine, the lens is like 1cm in diameter. Think you can get like...a loose sheet of polarizer or doesn't it work that way ?
Very swell. Not sure if I like the little point sticking out of the right side or not. It kind of leads the eye, but without it, the house looks a lot lonelier.
QUESTION: I am using a 35mm Canon EOS-1 for Photography, and although it is not mine, I plan to buy a Digital EOS/ Rebel when the class ends and I have enougy money. Right now though, I wish to purchase a Flash for the EOS, which I am hoping will also work with the Digital body. Is there a basic, standard Canon Flash that is solid for a beginning photographer? I checked into the 430, but it was something like $300.
edit: I bought the Canon EOS 420EX Flash Speedlite. Hope it doesn't suck.

Yeah, I had a silent debate with myself for about 5 minutes on whether I should remove it or not. I decided, in the end, that I should keep it, because without it, It would just look like 3 horizontal shapes placed ontop of eachother - the sky, house + rock line, and the sea underneath. I thought it broke up the composition a bit, bit in a good way...
...but something still bugs me about it!
Anejrtlei4thjkdrl - I had to read Gafoto's comment before I realized what you'd done. It's like one of those "What's Different?" comparisons fo-toes.
He is not a spider, Sheri. He is a blond guy with a goatee, posing in a terrific portrait.
Squabman - both of those pics are excellent and impacting, in my opinion. :^:
NightDragon - I agree with Jonis' speculation, but I think the point on the right should be cropped out. I think the house being lonlier would only strengthen the composition, as it already seems lonely to me.
Phonehand - I love the converse / black jeans pic at the top of the last page.
Radikal_Dreamer - the grainy pic with the 3 doors is really really awesome. I love it.

It's a beautiful shot, but I'd be lying if I said the crooked horizon wasn't getting to me.
And a 7-leaf clover!
