So far the leading favorite children's author is JK Rowling, which I guess shouldn't really be a surprise to me but it is.

Also some of you have not included a favorite children's author and I am very disappointed.

Wait is this just for baked goods? I thought it was the secret Satans thread.

I currently do not have access to an oven capable of bakery, so I'll duck my head back below the parapet on this one

I do have some no-bake cookie recipes @Gumpy

We've had a bunch of people send no-bakes and fudge and stuff, no oven isn't necessarily a barrier!

Rugelach I'm not Jewish, but these look good and I wanna expand my horizons.

Peanut butter smores These look good. Also don't need an oven <HINT-HINT!>

    Oatmeal Cream Cheese Butterscotch Bars

So question. While I'm sure it's not necessarily against the rules, what are thoughts regarding savory/salty snacks in this swap? If I made pretzels or something, would they be unwelcome? I'm just trying to get the general feel here. I can do all sweets, no problem. Just curious.
Also, if you don't like Kringla, you're both screwed and dead to me.

Gimme stuff. Please. And I don't just mean my Secret Satan.

    If they're edible they're welcome

I would be extremely jealous of anyone getting homemade pretzels!!

Savory/salty would be baller as far as I'm concerned, although in this respect I am but one voice among many.

Somebody tell me about fudge, or peanut butter. Or peanut butter fudge.

I saw this recipe today and thought it'd be super easy to try out.

Anybody a fan of pbfudge? What about when it's layered on top of regular fudge?

  • PeenPeen Registered User regular
My wife makes a peanut butter fudge that has a few more ingredients than that one (marshmallow fluff, not sure what else) and it's fantastic. Two thumbs way, way up for peanut butter fudge.

  • TallahasseerielTallahasseeriel Registered User regular
PB fudge is arguably better than regular chocolate fudge.

Only just noticed my notification in this thread.
I have the weirdest taste in food and everything I'd make would probably horrify those who don't agree chilli powder in scrambled eggs is the best thing ever. Soft in the middle chocolate puddings? I prefer eating the uncooked mixture so I don't bother with the pesky baking part of the recipe. I'm sure there any many UK people who can make actual tasty sweet things.

Other people do this too?! I'm so happy! It's the only way I eat them, but I get weird looks when I do. Maybe my friends are the weird ones.

Crap, I forgot to add something to my sign up e-mail, so I'll just put it here. It doesn't come up that often, but please (please, please) do not send me blue food. I will, of course, graciously accept it, but they won't be eaten. Well, my nephews would eat them, but I'm more concerned about my enjoyment than theirs.

Also, because I'm obsessed with them, here's a tiny Kringla picture.

Does anyone have shipping suggestions for items that may get soggy if just put in a bag? Like the pretzels, for instance.

Gimme stuff. Please. And I don't just mean my Secret Satan.

Bag with holes? Order an exotic animal and reuse the vented box it comes in but scribble out animals on the label and write in cookies?
