In Germany, the period presented marketing problems. At the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, Adolf Hitler, a health faddist, insisted that every bottle of Coke have a caffeine-warning label. The same year, anti-Semitism hurt sales when a German competitor stole some kosher Coke bottle caps and urged consumers to avoid the "Jewish American" drink. To counter this, Coke's German branch passed out sodas at Hitler Youth rallies and displayed huge swastikas at bottling conventions.
your sig was really good following reading that, bee tee dubs.
It was made before the forums shifted over to Vanilla, so it's like an easter egg now!
will i like dragon age if i loved mass effect but generally don't dig rpg's
Dragon Age: Origins is an RPG's RPG. It feels like a refresh on what they were trying to do with Baldur's Gate back in the 90s, in their own world, with some KOTOR game sensibilities.
Dragon Age 2 feels like fantasy Mass Effect 2-3. Defined character with a set one-word name that everyone calls you by, varied romance options, highly narrative-driven.
Dragon Age: Inquisition looks to be taking the best parts of those two fairly different games and making something better than either one. And it looks to be MASSIVELY long.
So from a $ to time ratio, its a good investment.

DA Origins was very old school RPG. DA 2 was like Mass Effect: Dragon Age.
I don't know what the new one is going to be like, but I bet it's still pretty Massively Effectish.

Why would anyone ever do this? Not using magic is the worst.
I don't even get to be a blood mage eventually!
Blood mags is both OP and really breaks the narrative. Everyone should want to kill you the first time you use blood magic.
That part acutally bugged me in DA2.
Nobody acknowledges that you're a mage. Walking around in a robe with a staff. Casting spells everywhere. Humming "I'm a mage, I'm a mage, fuck you I'm a mage" under you breath.

I planned on playing an arcane warrior/blood Mage. But they made them so evil I could not do it. Took the other stupid prestige class instead. Did not matter. That game is so easy on hard.

“To me, at least in retrospect, the really interesting question is why dullness proves to be such a powerful impediment to attention. Why we recoil from the dull. Maybe it's because dullness is intrinsically painful; maybe that's where phrases like 'deadly dull' or 'excruciatingly dull' come from. But there might be more to it. Maybe dullness is associated with psychic pain because something that's dull or opaque fails to provide enough stimulation to distract people from some other, deeper type of pain that is always there, if only in an ambient low-level way, and which most of us spend nearly all our time and energy trying to distract ourselves from feeling, or at least from feeling directly or with our full attention. Admittedly, the whole thing's pretty confusing, and hard to talk about abstractly...but surely something must lie behind not just Muzak in dull or tedious places anymore but now also actual TV in waiting rooms, supermarkets' checkouts, airports' gates, SUVs' backseats. Walkmen, iPods, BlackBerries, cell phones that attach to your head. The terror of silence with nothing diverting to do. I can't think anyone really believes that today's so-called 'information society' is just about information. Everyone knows it's about something else, way down.”

i would've really appreciated it if being a blood mage unlocked an entirely separate narrative path in the DA series
That's a lot to ask of Bioware. Obsidian, Troika or Black Isle could pull it off though.
it would basically be like choosing one of many in MOTB
just gotta pay some voice actors a couple more peanuts and bam
But Bioware doesn't write alternative or branching dialog. . .
ME3 was a microcosm of the diamond-shaped narrative method that they use[d for the trilogy] - you can have branches but they'll inevitably converge
presumably if bioware entertained a blood mage-specific path, there would be a specific individual/special PC characteristic or method of reconciliation that allowed them to merge the stories at some point

it's just the cultural equivalent to [economic] elite theory :P
elite theory, aka the ronya boilerplate:
The theory posits that a small minority, consisting of members of the economic elite and policy-planning networks, holds the most power and that this power is independent of a state's democratic elections process.
basically there are makers and distributors of cultural standbys and mores

adroit websurfing my good man are you a hacker
Playing a blood mage makes you at least as bad as the kind of person who always wants to roll up a drow

Also, infinity magic is so broken in that game. I had a tiny MP pool as an arcane warrior. Did not matter. Still so strong.
Thank you.

I just had a conversation with a friend in which I had a fucking answer for everything and reasons to back up my answers...
I am a horrible person
nah, don't kick yourself too hard.
Sometimes people want answers and sometimes they just want someone to listen.
Who knows? Maybe they appreciated it.
