Tried the Fonndry tonight with all the grail ice and no Punitives, Elis, Tollbooths or Ichis. Hmmm, not great, but that may have been the runners I was against. If they don't run until they have a decent rig up they can probably just blow through it all when they start running and you end up wishing you'd just plonked down an Eli and a Tollbooth.

Need people's help again. Tried building a crim deck for the first time in forever. It's got too many toys in it, and might be overkill on the toys it has. Any help is welcome.

seems real short on cash
maybe turn crash space into something that pays you
bank job is really good right now
a Leela deck without emergency shutdown seems unwise
mr. li is best in decks with a lot of redundancy and a lot of tutoring and this isn't particularly heavy on either (multiple copies of events don't count since you actually want to play more than one copy of each event, usually)
taking him out and the two scavenges and replacing them with two diesel seems like a good idea
then use the two extra slots on emergency shutdown or more money
This is the deck I was playing around with at my recent game night.
Won 3 out of 4 games, and lost one because of player error, where I got so excited by killing a Tollbooth with Kraken I forgot to draw up to prevent the flatline
Blue Sun and Foundry decks would probably be worth putting in, too.
Maybe the Silhouette Notoriety/Quest Completed deck?
Is blue sun an archetype just on its own? You have Blue Sun Glacier, Blue Sun Off the Grid Combo etc. Ditto for foundry which has a bunch of different build.
Like how is Archetype being defined? At a high level (Big Ice, FA, etc?) or a lower level?
Some of the crazy CT decks (30+ Events, that Stimshop one that top 16'd Worlds) might be a footnote
Well I mean at least one build of each. I figure if we're going to go all the way and try and have a good variety of suggested decks we oughta try and have at least one for all of the more viable IDs.

I think a couple of decks for each faction is enough, otherwise we could go crazy.
We are already talking about 17 archetypes, with decklists.
Other stuff needs including in the OP as well, for example tips for beginners, good core set only decks.

Two post into? I almost typo'd that to two page intro, but maybe that would be more accurate.

I'm curious, did PPVP seem a bit slow with Leela? I also find it amusing that you're running R&DI and Legwork, while I'm trying out Indexing and HQI. Then again, I'm using Logos and Bank Jobs instead of Desperado and Security Testing, so that's a pretty significant change too.
So far it has been okay, but I'm open to different economy packages.
I did consider Makers Eye, it works well with prepaid. But I like the ability to r&d lock once r&di is down. Think either are fine.
How are you finding Logos, better than Desperado? What do you tend to get with it?
I considered it but was worried about going all in on the agenda scoring ability thing.
I love Bank Job, against NEH or something with open remotes, but hate it against glacier where you need every economy card. How are you finding it? My meta has lots of glacier as everyone hates NEH so its not great for me.
It went 3-0. I found that Bank Job wasn't awful, but I rarely had a chance to use it. I was so busy doing something else, and Kati was doing all my money for me. It's nice to have out on the table, though, since you can run a Jackson with no money, and the corp will almost always fold him.
The surprising thing I ran into was HQI. Running into HQ with 2 on the table presents an interesting dilemma. Let's say, best case scenario, you pull an agenda first access. Then, Leela bounces something (almost always ice, but sometimes you can get an asset or upgrade) into HQ. This is not optional. If there's a target, you MUST put it in the hand. Now, you've added non-agendas into HQ, where you have to pull more cards. You're shooting yourself in the foot. Not that it's not worth it (you pulled an agenda!), but it's interesting to do.
Also, we ruled in our league that Leela doesn't fire on a director Haas trash. I think this is the right call, but it was definitely a head-cocking moment. I would also say that Leela doesn't fire on Notoriety, for the same reasons.
The really fun turn is, with Logos out, letting the corp score an agenda. Bounce the R&D ice, and go get Keyhole. Delicious.
Femme is really great here, I just wish I had room for Scavenge.
I'm not sold on Unscheduled maintenance, but it's thematic and seems to work logically. More testing is required.

Leela's ability does not fire on Haas or Hiro trash, that is correct
her ability says "whenever an agenda is scored or stolen"
you don't steal Haas, you "add it to your score area as an agenda"
note that this also applies to Notoriety

Well, any similar card, really. Shi.kyu for example, is an odd one but follows the same template.
I think I'm going to change up my decks soon, not that I get to play all that often or anything. Themadjai's deck makes me want to tool with some things, although not playing with Leela.
Man, why do I only ever have ideas for runner decks? >_<

I admit, I'm mostly using Logos because I don't have enough physical copies of Desperado. That said, my thinking on Leela is that she's a lot like Iain, in that she doesn't want or need to make a whole lot of runs all the time - just runs when they count. Desperado relies on the runner running a lot, and I don't think Leela will do that. Plus, it does combo nicely with her ability - go find that Indexing or Siphon when they score, plus remove their ice on whichever central you're targeting. Unlike Iain, she doesn't get a money advantage - only a temporary board state one. So I'm trying to set her up so that when those moments come, she can make the most use of her opportunities.
I do think that economy is going to be her big issue, at least in my build. Bank Job is a great 7 credits on two clicks - better than Lucky Find - but not as consistent as the 3/turn with Desperado and Security Testing. I haven't played her enough to really take her measure. But Bank Job and Security Testing are, to me, somewhat analogous, since both rely on the corp leaving an empty or easy-to-get-though server open. Like Successful Demonstration, sometimes it's just not worth it.

It's funny seeing tzeentchling's post, when I'm coming here to say, "I'm pretty sure I made a bad deck, but I need to play it some and find out." It's a Leela deck that focuses on running often and hard and just attacking centrals. :P
It will definitely have weaknesses, but I want to play and see how bad they are, and if it can win in spite of them by being fast and pressured enough.

To be fair @ArcticLancer I've played like 5 games with her, and 3 of those were with Desperado/Security Testing/Hemorrhage. So running a lot works too!
Edit: Side note, I actually have really enjoyed Hemorrhage in any Criminal deck I play. Crims run a lot, it gains counters, and sometimes the corp will purge just because of the threat, even if you didn't plan on using it. The stupid 4-influence cost is heavy, but Leela (and Criminals in general) are getting more and more independent of influence needs. Aside from Corroder (since Breach isn't good enough to be a primary breaker) and some sort of R&D pressure card (Indexing/RDI/Medium), there isn't a huge need to bring in outside influence (especially now with Rex for code gates), and Lucky Find isn't needed for econ as much as in other decks.
Well, just played in the first tournament of the season, and it went pretty well. I brought Blue Sun and Quetzal and ended 3rd out of 9, but with 4 of us tied for 2nd.

The Blue Sun deck is Timmy W's deck from worlds except with an aggressive secretary instead of ash, but the change didn't have any effect in the games I played. I won all 4 games through midseasons/posted bounty + scorched earth combos. The archetype is pretty strong, and I actually had the most problems with a stealth Kit deck that turned up. Power shutdown saved my bacon though, by preventing him from having enough stealth credits to boost his dagger to break an archer.
The Quetzal deck was based off the Anatomy of Anarch archetype, with one siphon dropped for two E3s. This deck went 1-3, and the one win I did get was against someone that was quite new to the game. All three losses were flatlines, one against jinteki PE from a ronin/double EMP with 4 cards in hand, and two against scorched/psychographics shenanigans. The second loss was incredibly aggravating, I got midseasoned with a plascrete up, as i'd seen two scorches in HQ. Hard drew for three turns for the second plascrete, as he didnt triple scorch me once he had the money. I figured if I got the plascrete and moneyed up enough for consistent runs I would've had an easy win. On the fourth turn I spent the last two clicks gaining a credit and playing a sure gamble, hoping that he wouldn't top deck the final scorch, as he hadn't been hard drawing for it, and was instead scoring NAPDs in a iced remote. Welp, he did. The worst part is, the next card on my stack was the plascrete. The big misplay was spending three turns drawing I think, and I should've instead run aggressively on his centrals.
The field was pretty varied, with 3 NEH, 2 PE, 1 RP, 1 Blue Sun, 1 HB:ETF, and 1 that I can't remember. Runners were 1 Kit, 2 Andy, 2 Quetzal, 1 Noise,1 Ken Tenma, and 1 Nasir.
All in all, the experience of being at an actual tournament was incredibly fun and I learned a lot from the people there, most of which were extremely good players and happy to give advice/tips. It was great enough that i'm contemplating going to two tournaments next weekend!

Day 1 of two separate tournaments today! Brought my Leela deck and a Blue Sun deck. Went 5-3 overall, 3-1 with Leela and 2-2 with Blue Sun, which was good enough for 3rd (out of 8). A single more win would have put me in first, particularly on strength of schedule. Still chasing that first playmat!
The Blue Sun is jank, but fun jank, but really unreliable. Several games went where I didn't even see a Will-o, and one game I had actually drawn every agenda in my deck by turn 6 (with Jackson). Suffice it to say I did not win that game. Shinobi never won me the game (and it gets worse if I've given a bunch of bad pub beforehand), but it did stop runs sometimes and hurt people. Still, unfortunately unreliable. Will probably switch to my ScorchNEH tomorrow.
I was pleased with Leela, and she did good. Bouncing their R&D ice and Indexing won me a few games. Players aren't familiar with blue runners that don't run all the time. The only game I lost was against a horizontal taxing NEH with DRT, Encryption Protocol, and City Surveillance, and that game I was actually up 6-2 at one point. That said, I did top deck an Astro against a more normal NEH in my next game for the win, right before he could, and against RP I had one chance to win a Future Perfect psi-game for the win before he scored out his last Nisei to win, so they were all close.
That said, I think I need to make some changes to Leela. First, swapping out a HQI for a single Legwork. With Logos I don't care about the singleton, and it fits her playstyle, but the single HQI is still good, especially with Sneakdoor, and it won me a game. I just don't have the cash for 2. The other thing is that Leela gets poor quick. Runs don't make her money, so she's limited to bursts from drawing econ and Kati every so often. Thinking I might take out a Shutdown and a Faerie and put in some more money cards, though I don't know what else I could include. Maybe Easy Mark? Maybe 3 Steps Ahead? I feel like Security Testing without Desperado isn't good enough. And I'd love to fit in a Stimhack - maybe dropping the Gordian to a Zu.13? At least 4 times I hit NAPD with just 3 credits....

Maybe a singleton opus? Maybe grifters and security testing? I don't know that mr li is an absolute necessity in this deck, maybe swap him out for some econ. Do you find yourself making non-event runs you know will succeed? Maybe dirty laundry would be good? It's as good as a gamble if you were going to make the run anyway
Would anyone be interested in a casual Octgn based Netrunner escalation league? Like starting with the core set and adding in one datapack/expansion per round in release order. Thinking a very casual and manageable schedule like one randomly assigned opponent for a scoring game a fortnight. The usual two games so you play both sides. 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw. People could drop in and out as they wish as missing a week or joining late would really be no big thing.
Would be a nice way to get newer players without a local scene to be able to slowly up their game if we can get enough people.
Just throw an agree or something to this post if you like the idea.

I'd like to do this too, would it be reasonable/ a good idea to try and cross post this to the shut up& sit down forums? I know they have a netrunner thread that apparently pmavers started (sorry to creep!) I know a LOT less about that community, but they seem nice?
Edit: apparently you have to be a member to post? That might make this harder unless we could drag some of them over to this board for scheduling/planning purposes.

Could swap out the lucky find (or gamble) for an Inside Job, too, to push through a one-ice remote if the corp does something ballsy.
I love turn one Inside Jobs, sometimes.

Alright, tournament 2 of 2 today! Ended up in second place (out of 17) with 5 corp wins and 3 runner wins (first place had 4 runner wins and 4.5 corp wins (0.5 on time)), and I was the one who handed him his runner loss). Before the tournament, I swapped out a Faerie, a Gordian Blade, and a Emergency Shutdown for a Zu.13, a Stimhack, and a third Logos, and on the whole I think these were good swaps.
The first loss was against an HB fast-advance/Toybox & big ice list - Toybox is actually bad for Leela! Whiffed on a couple agendas in hand, which he scored out the next turn. Wasted a Indexing with a hidden Jackson on the table too. Had a chance when he got to 6 with a Sleepers also scored, and I bounced his R&D ice for a wide open SOT Indexing on 4 points, only to see 3 ice and 2 Biotics. He was the guy who won, though, so I don't feel bad. The second loss was against a Midseasons NEH deck, where I made two crucial errors. First, Indexing following a score while the corp had a rezzed Howard - total rookie play. Second, not running Archives on what turned out to be the last turn - both at 6 points, he had a rezzed SanSan and two Astros with tokens. If I run Archives I find a NAPD Contract for the win. >:| #questforthemat continues! But I'll take the alt-art Plascrete and $15 store credit (had a box already).
My NEH deck, on the other hand, performed admirably. I call it "ScorchEH":
All 5 wins on the day were through Scorched Earth. One game I had the option of scoring out or Scorching, but I'll almost always choose to kill. >:D The last game I actually had to triple Scorch through a Plascrete, but he did have 12 tags from a Midseasons so I could have Psychographic'd a Beale for a win too had I drawn the Beale first. I had two games where I won through Scorch within 4 turns - one from a sneaky Breaking News-Scorch against Noise, and one via a turn 3 Midseasons-Scorch against Gabe. The Private Contracts were a last-minute addition - I had been using Marked Accounts for a while - but the Private Contracts gave me money easier, faster, and allowed me to bounce back into Scorch range very quickly after a Siphon. Definitely a good choice!
Also, several of my games were recorded, since I was at table 1 for the last three matches. If they get posted with commentary I'll put the links here.
That said, I think I need to make some changes to Leela. First, swapping out a HQI for a single Legwork. Have you ever tried Tri-maf? It's better than Kati, unless you're loading her up to 9 before popping her. Armitage is also coming back into style.
tzeentchlingDoctor of RocksOaklandRegistered Userregular
I looked at Tri-maf, but I do occasionally go into tag-me, and would rather not have to deal with random meat damage plus losing my money source. Leela plays slow enough that Kati isn't bad.
I'm currently in the process of writing up about popular deck archetypes for the new thread. I'm just writing a paragraph for each and then linking to a decklist.
Would anyone be up for taking a read through what I've done, just want some feedback as I've just dumped my thoughts about the deck on a page?

I'm curious, did PPVP seem a bit slow with Leela? I also find it amusing that you're running R&DI and Legwork, while I'm trying out Indexing and HQI. Then again, I'm using Logos and Bank Jobs instead of Desperado and Security Testing, so that's a pretty significant change too.
Good thinking.
I will try and find the lists on NRDB to link to. (providing it doesn't get taken down again)

CURRENTLY PLAYING:
Android: Netrunner, Warhammer: Conquest, Star Realms
Leela's ability does not fire on Haas or Hiro trash, that is correct
her ability says "whenever an agenda is scored or stolen"
you don't steal Haas, you "add it to your score area as an agenda"
note that this also applies to Notoriety
I think I'm going to change up my decks soon, not that I get to play all that often or anything. Themadjai's deck makes me want to tool with some things, although not playing with Leela.
Man, why do I only ever have ideas for runner decks? >_<
Perhaps I can interest you in my meager selection of pins?
It will definitely have weaknesses, but I want to play and see how bad they are, and if it can win in spite of them by being fast and pressured enough.

@Jam Warrior I am probably interested in this.
You may be right. An ideal first hand is basically Logos, Mr. Li, Kati, Sure Gamble, and Lucky Find.
I love turn one Inside Jobs, sometimes.

Also, several of my games were recorded, since I was at table 1 for the last three matches. If they get posted with commentary I'll put the links here.
Have you ever tried Tri-maf? It's better than Kati, unless you're loading her up to 9 before popping her. Armitage is also coming back into style.
Would anyone be up for taking a read through what I've done, just want some feedback as I've just dumped my thoughts about the deck on a page?
