    Yah, from the wording and his overall attitude (throughout the whole series, but this arc in particular) you definitely get the feeling he never knew his father

    Missing cats, bonfires, deep woods at night....I don't know how these lines will converge, but I bet it won't be pretty.

    Malachai gets lost in the deep woods at night, follows the fire back to his friends, learn that his friends are his real family, not the family that abandoned him.

    Then the fire spreads.

    Whilst I suspect this is what will happen, I'm still on tenterhooks to see just how it plays along.

    All I can see is in panel 2 the 3 small noise lines have been erased...

    I got the feeling that in a way Malachi jr. Is Malachi. Perhaps Malachi's father went missing and he could never see him again and that's why he is so eager to put the cat family back together again.

    If that's true then it's pretty sad. I really want to see Malachi jr. making a cute smile among the other kittens.
