But this, this is the holy grail

No roux, no farting about with multiple containers or pots, no waiting for the oven, just pasta+milk+seasonings+cheese BOOM FOOD

And it's really really fucking good
    Gonna make this tonight

Leaving out the mustard powder though because I loathe mustard

    More mustard for us.

Mustard best condiment? or bestest condiment?

we have discovered that making maple sausages and a boiled egg and including that with the KD makes it amazing

however i have always stayed with my classics - tuna, boiled egg, frozen peas, corn, carrots + KD -- I'd eat that for weeks at a time when I was in my early twenties.

    E...egg...in Mac & Cheese?

I don't know how I feel about this.

Yeah I avoid it. It is gross. If she didn't like it, fine. But don't come at me with the nanobots.

The fuck you just say to me?

    You heard me!

Just Canadian bacon and cheese! blech! Acceptable as Hawaiian pizza.

I dislike mustard too, but I put mustard powder in my mac and cheese because it adds a savory sharpness.
    Hrmmmm

Well I was gonna use sharp cheddar

So I'll try it, but you better not be leading me astray Pipe!

I promise I am not! The first mouthful might have a little mustardy twinge, but it will grow on you. It makes the dish richer and tastier.

It's been two weeks since I had a big anxiety thing before the dentist, and it's still regularly coming back to keep me from sleeping and freaking me out. I think I need to go see the doctor soon for the sake of my own sanity. I'm trying to distract myself so I'll forget about it but the part of me that's anxious is worried that when I do the thing I'm anxious about will happen, so I like subconsciously resist my own attempts to stop being anxious. If that makes sense?

And it especially doesn't help that the chest ache that made me anxious in the first place keeps coming back and I don't know what's causing it, like if it's a pulled muscle or what.

Eventually I'll probably just mentally muscle my way through it and go to sleep listening to something despite freaking out the whole time. It'll be fine and I will of course have been worrying over nothing, but of course that doesn't make me feel better now. This is a million times worse than my usual sleep anxiety about not getting nightmares which freak me out. It usually doesn't take long to get over that, even when it actually happens.

I knew for a while that my parents had shitty Republican opinions, but they usually kept it to hating on Democrats in general. Christmas dinner, I have no recollection of how the conversation arrived at the topic, but I was appalled to hear my dad declare, "I don't think people are really born gay." I then had barely enough time to facepalm before he shared his opinion that "minorities are too entitled" and then I left the room.

When I went to Disney World Florida we went to a restaurant where the theme was traditional American food and they were all dressed up like what pilgrims wore. Anyhoo this was charming and all, and we sit down and we are all expecting the dinner to be like a Sunday roast type.

But there was mac and cheese served with it! What!! Why? It was very nice but what!

    Nice, but unexpected.

    ~ The End. ~

I love this post. I've looked at that restaurant every time I make my reservations for a week in disney, and I've always wondered what it's like for a foreigner to eat there. I've never been because I live in New England and like...I'm not going to Disney to eat roast beef with a bunch of pilgrims, since that's basically my life.

Mac and cheese - okay we love it, and in parts of the US it's a traditional side with a big roast dinner.
    - BUT -
It's a disney thing. There are a lot of children who visit the parks and decide that they are not eating anything except macaroni and cheese for the duration of their stay. You'll see mac and cheese on almost every menu in the park, from the biergarten in World Showcase's Germany to Boma in Animal Kingdom Lodge. It's a last resort for parents with picky kids.
