I posted these in ODAM, but I guess I'll post them here too.
Dammit man, now I need to post pics. We could, together, have the most kitbashin'est Ork army around.
Do it.
This is the first ork I've started painting (and it's a grot), but I'm doing Death Skullz, due to their propensity to loot.
I think next up is a monolith. I really love that monolith battlewagon that's floating around out there, and I think I could improve it.

Alright, when I get home tonight the photobooth is getting set-up, and all my WIP Orks are going to be immortalized. I especially need to get back to work on my new battlewagon. My old one won me a special prize back when they had a grand tournament in Seattle... BIGGEST CONVERSION!

I'll agree to that. Those figs you just posted aren't bad at all, K_A.
I also agree with the Canadian/American exchange bullshit. THEY'RE WORTH THE SAME NOW. Meh. Fucking companies taking advantage on the "Lol different currencies let's just keep it the same as it was and pretend they're not at 1:1" situation.
Anyways, does anyone in this thread play much Warmachine/Hordes? I finally got a 500 point Cygnar shooty army together, and got down to painting. So far, my Warjacks are slowly getting their base coats completely done. I went with Exile Blue and opted to make the golden/brassy parts quicksilver instead, and make the metallic parts either gold or brass for a semi-inverted type of scheme. Coming out fairly nice so far, if a bit messy. Haven't done this before. Not to mention my bottle of Brazen Brass came out all nasty and chunky. After I finish with a coat or so more on the metals and possibly the blue, I'm going to get my hands on some washes and highlight colors, and finally the Varnish to seal it all off. Oh, and repainting the bases, of course.
Got my hands on an extremely fine detail brush from the local art store, and it's helping a -lot-. Going to co over a coat or so again, then go out and get a couple washes and highlight tones.
I'm thinking Skorcha, Big Shoota with those hand to hand attack attachments options to represent the dudes on it fighting.
Every turn, on a roll of '1' it cannot shoot or move, just like all feral Ork vehicles. This will represent the Necron coming back to life and punching the driver around for a bit before he gets killed again.

Could need better painting, though.
And I think the Basilisk gun might be a little too huge. Maybe saw a little bit off.

Funny story.
Okay, we live in Canada.
My buddy goes into a GW store and tries to order a Rhino body.
Buddy: I'd like to order a Rhino body.
GW: Okay, I'll look it up here...that's 35$
Buddy: But, I looked on the website and it said 20$.
GW: No, no here it says 35$.
Buddy: Oh, well on the US one it says 20$.
GW: Yeah, but that's in American dollars.
Buddy: Okay, I'll just convert my money to US dollars then...let's see...right now the exchange is at about 1.1....Yeah, I have 20 american dollars.
GW: No, no you can't...
Buddy: Why is the Canadian site more expensive?
GW: Because it's in Canadian dollars.
Buddy: Yeah, but our money is worth as much as there's now. Can't I just order from the US site using american money and pay 20 dollars?
GW: Uh...no, no you can't do that because those are the american prices...
Buddy: Okay, I'll change my money into american money again...1:1...Okay now my 20 dollars CDN is 20 dollars US, can I order it from the US store now?
GW: You can't...you can't do that.
Buddy: Why?
GW: Because you can't...

Forced to agree.
I think the ridiculously oversized cannon is actually a pretty good match for the rest of your... um, theme.
Look at the Apocalypse book.

Oh I bet they fucking do.
Everywhere is jacking us on this. It's been all over the news but they keep their prices the way they were before our dollar rose up.
Trust me, they fucking know. They are making like 20% US extra for no goddamned reason on every purchase.

That is shit-hot, duder. Can't wait to see you paint it up.
I e-mailed the Canadian GW and asked:
"Subject: I think there is an error in the prices listed.
The Apocalypse book is 70 dollars on the Canadian
site, but on the American one it is 50 dollars.
Why is it a different price?"
He artfully dodged with:
"Because we are a separate company and therefore we have different
pricing. "

The owner of my lgs died over the weekend and now I feel really terrible for hating him and his giant markup.

I have also heard good things about it.
Just gotta touch it up and do the base.
It's smoothed out a lot over the years though.
