    Gabe with freckles...hmmmmm...

Oh, wait, this is about 50 Shades of Grey. Right. I'd love to see a strip of the wasp scene.

    ...For Entomological reasons.

Loving the perspective work in this one :) The style in general is sweet, there seems to be a new tweak to it. More conservative than some of his other experiments but I dig it.

I knew there was a tampon scene, but I had to google to make sure there wasn't a wasp scene.

Also, I guess I'm kinkier than I thought, because I read online what the "infamous tampon scene" was and it's just... a guy having sex with his girlfriend while she's on her period? It's obvious why they wouldn't want to film that, but I didn't think it was that unusual a thing for couples to do.

That part doesn't really irk me so much as detailing the removal of her tampon.

That just doesn't strike me as necessary information that advances the plot.

The scary part is that I don't know if they made up those scenes or if they actually exist in the book.

This is probably just me, but my brain can't handle the perspective. Gabe looks like a giant. And why black freckles? o_O

I'm really digging the art in that final panel.

I thought this was brilliantly rendered. Gabe may be a bit too big in the final panel compared to Tycho, but in a way that's part of what they were going for.

The book started life as a Twilight fan fiction. You're expecting a level of narrative cohesion that just wasn't on the table to begin with.

I'm leaning towards awesome, myself. Being in the same boat and all.

I'm guessing you'll have a hard time finding anything to fill this category in there.

Assuming you can first find a reasonable designation for the word "plot."

Second panel may be a little bit much but I do really like how it appears Gabe's tears of rage are going to turn him into a Super Saiyan in the last panel.

I know almost nothing about 50 Shades, but the little I do know makes me wonder how any of it would be put into a "public consumption" movie, even an R-rated one. It just sounds like a porno to me.

Oh, it's definitely porn. I think something as badly written as this owes it's popularity to the fact that professional porn makers often do not gear their work towards women's fantasies. It's a similar reason as to why The Hunger Games and even Twilight got popular - girls want fiction catered to them, in a world where all too often books and especially movies are catered towards men, with women as an afterthought. 50 Shades may not be good in and of itself, but its existence does at least point out the dearth of material in this area.

It's basically a Twilight style "romance" dressing up an abusive and mutually destructive relationship as something to be desired, except the vampire (who is not actually a vampire (as far as I know)) only manages to keep his pants on for about four pages instead of four books. My wife calls it, "Supremely unarousing."

So...how would you even adapt this as an R-rated movie? Is all that stuff Gilbert Gottfried is describing just implied offscreen?

Of all the recent comics where Gabe is experimenting with the art, this is my favorite. It looks great, and I'd be totally happy with P-A looking like this from now on.

At first I thought "tampon scene" was some despicable descriptor of the fan-base of the book(s)/movie. But then the comic made it clear that it was an actual scene that happened in the book. And now I can't decide which reading of that phase is worse.

    Two things -
First, after Gabe has decided to push his talents, it's beginning to look really good. (It was a bit clunky at first, but as a content creator myself, that happens) I like the direction the style is going.

Second, 50 Shades started as a Twilight fanfic, and then the names were changed when a publishing deal came around.

I don't mind that they cut the McRib scene. There wasn't any boning in it; you might say it was boneless.

The last time I ordered a McRib, the barbecue sauce was on the outside of the bun. There's a sex joke in there somewhere, I'm sure.

The art experimentation Gabe is doing is real neat. I'm not sure I dig the randomly-new freckles comic-Gabe has sprouted, makes me think maybe he just got too much sun that one time, perhaps. On the other hand, the angular pose in panel three might be one of my favorites in some time. Statuesque.
