Venues never lie (unless of course it's a skeezy ass venue). Though, negotiations can change things, but PAX is usually set-in-stone, given its size and significance.

The reason why it is not on the three day weekend is because a group already has the expo reserved every fourth year until the end of time. So every now and then we have to move.
