Ericsson sucks so much. Datysuk has had maybe the worst game of his life, though part of it is he's hurt.

I fucking hate playoff refereeing. I'm so tired of games getting handed to teams that goon things up because of the cowardice of referees ands the NHL. I start to wish the canucks would just call up a thug from the farm next time they end up in the playoffs and just send him out to two hand someone in the head.

Haha, like the Canucks aren't getting away with all kinds of shit.

  • CorvusCorvus . VancouverRegistered User regular
Yeah, I dont see anyone on Van getting away with charging on every shift. But my complaint isnt just canucks specific. I hate that the rules change for the playoffs, it is so gutless and dumb that teams are allowed to get away with so much more. Failure to enforce the rules is always dressed up with the "we don't want to decide the game" crap, which is so hypocritical.

Like, honestly, would bertuzzi on Moore even get five minutes in the playoffs? Hell, Bure blatantly head shifted Shane churla in 94 and didn't even get a penalty.

    Who's charging on every shift?

Ferland? Because that one hit when he came out of the penalty box probably could have been called but that's the only one I've seen.

Unless you think any big hit should be punished.

Its not so much that the interference call on Rosivol was wrong, but it coming on the heels of NBC showing Kane getting mugged for the first two periods makes it look ticky tack as hell.

Why do the Blackhawks feel the need to just have a collapse like every second or third game? They played so well the last couple and then bam, fuck playing good defense and passing well.

It doesn't seem to matter to the officials that not calling something is influencing the game just as much as calling something.

The bitter parts of me think this is what happened with Glendening. Got cut super badly on his right hand in a scrum and needed a bunch of stitches and couldn't return. The line he was checking that is Tampa's major advantage then scored all three goals.

I am also salty about refs missing a slash that resulted in a broken stick on Drew Miller. Um, broken stick from a slash is about as automatic as puck over the glass these days. If a guy breaks a stick while not in the act of shooting is more than likely from a slash...even if you miss the actual slashing motion. Resulting non-penalty led to the events after... if they are on PK, Tyler doesn't score (hopefully).

Nah, it was a slash. But whatever. Wings totally broke down defensively three times in 8 minutes, that's why they lost.

Well today was a great first step, management has needed some real change for a long time now, not just shuffling the same few guys around.

Personally I wouldn't mind if we traded one/some of the picks this year for some experienced defense.

Trading for good Dmen is hard and expensive. Especially any under contract at reasonable cap hits. Blackhawks gave up a 2nd and a 3rd for Oduya, and he wasn't really expected to play as well as he did in '13 and '14. Or look at the ask from Toronto for Phaneuf.

The more of the Preds I see as this series goes on, the more the Avs, Panthers, and Lighting look like idiots for passing on Jones.
