Got my first grotesque done, happy with the outcome, 9 more to go.
I have a bunch of Isle of Blood rat ogres somewhere. Did the helmet need any greenstuffing to fit?
Yeah, its just the extra hemlet from the talos box with a wad of greenstuff jammed inside it to give it a bit of neck and something for the rat ogre neck to grab onto, i do have 10 extra rat heads sitting around now.
No rules or morals except those you choose to accept and live by.
Results for round 1 of Wyrd's Iron Painter went up last night, and I managed to win my first round! Honestly I was expecting to go out in the first round, so I am pleasantly surprised. I scored 39 pts. out of 60 possible (I think the highest score in round 1 was 54). Some quick napkin math puts my entry at ~ 62nd percentile overall, and 36th percentile of the winners of round one (there were about 180 total entries in round one). So, if round 1 scores are indicative of round 2, it looks like I just have a 1-in-3 shot of moving past round two
The theme was "Fool's Gold," and this guy was my entry:

The more I look at it and compare it to the other models the more i think my main problem is a slight miscast on the gun holding arm. I've got a few ideas to fix the issue.
Shit not fitting together properly is 50% of the reason my copy of Operation Icestorm sits on a shelf until someone takes it or I throw it out.
I mean, if you're giving it away, I'll take it off your hands ... ;D
I tried that. He's not giving it away, yet. I guess I should just keep on camping the dumpster.
It cost $100 and it's basically new. All but 4 of the models have never even left their little baggies. I want something for it.
Oh, I'll give you something, all right.

I have a static posed grot from the 2nd edition box set I'll trade you. I hear they are super rare.
This week I painted 10 Kabalite Warriors and 5 Incubi. I did the base colors and washes on the Incubi in the span of nine and a half hours last night. I was sore and tired at the end but I get to throw down some unpainted vehicles today in games and have painted models pop out when they get wrecked!

Yikes, converting "leaping" pose legs for Thallaxii is a pain. Simple enough in theory but that short little knee-ankle section is bleh. Especially when you realise the piston at the back is supposed to pivot with it halfway though gluing, like I just did…
