    A colt 45 1911 is as American as Captain America. I can think of no other hand gun to be carried by such a figure.

    As patriotic as the colt .45 is it's kinda useless when you're fighting 98% of the Avengers enemies. The captain needs a mini laser canon or something! And the shield should come with some kind of energy field projector, a simple "metal" (yaya fancy unbreakable metal) shield is hardly going to get you very far these days.

    Captain America is barely equipped to take on street thugs, if you want him facing off against super villians give him something to work with :)

    His vibranium/adamantium shield is really more reliable than any energy shield could be. I mean, shit, Cable's using it a thousand years in the future.

    If memory serves me correctly, it was at least the second fight. However, Lapham makes a pretty good point about the time period not being very precise, and I imagine it has enough wiggle room to make it work. I'm seriously thinking of picking this thing up, as I've always liked Spidey's early adventures quite a lot.
