Everyone is fine but we had a minor fire. My wife was making a sweet potato and the microwave caught fire. No structural damage. The fire department said it's safe to be in the house. It just smells of smoke. I bought some heavy duty air purifiers so hopefully that will help. Ugh. This is a really crappy way to end a very busy day

That sucks. but it could have been SO much worse, and I am glad everyone is okay.

I think you just have to air it out really well, and replace anything that got burned, like sheetrock or whatever. Curtains and such should all be laundered as well.

To get rid of the smell in your microwave, boil a bowl full of vinegar. Works really well from when I had a microwave fire.
