Guys, you press the button and just go back in time one day and put all your money into whatever stock had the biggest gain the day before at its lowest point, then sell at the high point. It's free money, and your life isn't otherwise changed.
Well that's your use of the button.

What if mine is to go back in time and abolish the wage system?

But what if the wage system turns out to be your great grandmother?

When Darth Vader tells Lando Calrissian to "pray" that he doesn't alter the deal any further, what do you think that means in the Star Wars universe?

Does this suggest the existence of religions and deities? How does The Force fit into this scheme? When Luke Skywalker's lightsaber flies from the ground into his hand allowing him to free himself from the frozen wampa prison, did he do that with his own power or was he actually just praying to The Force to move it for him?

Our Force, who art in heaven, please shoot lightning out of my hands, amen.

I feel like if I pressed the button, I wouldn't try to "fix" things, I'd just go in a 100% different direction. I'd go to a new major or a different college, hang with different people, pick up different hobbies.

It's effectively infinite new experiences if you can keep looping, and that kind of immortality is a lot more interesting than spending eternity trying to loop and get my arbitrary first choices "perfect."

I've recently noticed I have a lot of old image files saved that are close to 10 years old, hold no special meaning or use, and haven't been used since I originally saved them.

    Why haven't I deleted these?

So in Jacob's Star Wars game my first thought was to play a Han Solo like character. But then I realized playing a Lando like would be way more fun.

    For nostalgia?

We once found a cache of old forum and even BBS videos on one of my friends file stores. It was pretty great. All 150x100 pixel 15 second clips, and still compressed all to hell. You know he spent like an hour downloading each one. All to watch a dude crush his nuts skateboarding.

The first time you play it Cthulhu Wars is great for giving everyone round the table moments of holy shit you can do what now as another player gets a new spell book that instantly changes the balance of the game. Someone brings out a Great Old One, slapping down a plastic figure the size of a beer bottle that looks like the offspring of a squid and a buffalo, and everyone frantically tries to summon their own because holy shit that fucker is coming for your dudes.

my friends were like "oh yeah it was kind of an impromptu show. it went up on myspace. we thought you were busy."

to this day I shriek at them in rage.

The thing it really needs is a map that's about 3 times as large.

My initial impression is that it's good in the way that Twilight Imperium is, in that it's genuinely very difficult to tip the balance of power irrevocably in any one player's favour, while still being possible to have dramatic and spectacular conflicts

It would need another couple of games with people who know it, though

I want to get Cthulhu Wars now...

I will say it's like... pretty fucking ridiculously expensive in my opinion.

I'd only actually purchase it if you're really into painting figures. It's got lovely lovely figures.

Take a moment to donate what you can to Critical Resistance and Black Lives Matter.
