The darkest timeline.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
Marty: The future, it's where you're going? Doc: That's right, twenty five years into the future. I've always dreamed on seeing the future, looking beyond my years, seeing the progress of mankind. I'll also be able to see who wins the next twenty-five world series.
I noticed that pretty much every furry comic has multiple species of animal people all peacefully cohabiting except when they're fighting each other split strictly down species lines… what's that about?
Is that one with the 20’s prohibition cat people still the only one where there's just a single species of fur-folk and no humans?
My seperation of "furry" from "characters happen to be anthro animals" is if the fact that they're animals is something the story hinges on. With something that's just generally anthro you could replace the characters with humans and the story wouldn't really be affected. With something that's furry there's usually something that makes that not work, be it the animal people having abilities driven by the type of animal they are (flight, etc), behavior driven by the type of animal they are (dietary habits, etc), if humans exist in the story already seperately from the animal people, etc.
If anything, my mistake here was not realizing that Poppy actually is written by someone active in the fur fandom
I think if you were to actually skeletonize the semantics, the distinction would be "does the author get off on their own work." At which point the negative connotation is because it's technically a porn comic

I mean, that is what the fur fandom boils down to
But hey, I don't think Poppy or even the one Royce just posted to start this conversation are anywhere close to porn
The test basically comes down to "is it made by someone who is active in the fur fandom"?
Like, Clementine and Lackadaisy are definitely not
Poppy, having just looked up Morbi's art tumblr (warning: very nsfw) out of curiousity, actually is a furry comic
Isn't that like some far-off, members-only, internet subculture? Who even knows what goes on there and how do you find out? Visiting seldom-tread dark corners of deviantart?
I'd much rather go with @Goatmon 's rule of "shit, y/n?". I mean, anthropomorphic animals have been cool since I was like 9yo.

Furry is the lifestyle, more than anything. Just like enjoying MLP on a superficial level doesn't make you a Brony. Unless you want it to, for whatever reason.

"Furry" is a more specific niche than just "anthropomorphic animals"
either it's specifically fetish art OR just general anthro art
i would be hesitant to file that otter comic under the fetish category, but harkovast i would
just going "it's a furry comic" is dumb, because if you apply it to the otters it also absolutely applies to lackadaisy and poppy
If there is, definitely a furry comic
If not, I'm not interested

get me a jury that can agree on what a furry webcomic is, and I'll make cheese for you.
Do i get to pick what kind of cheese?
