Thank you for posting that. What a fantastic article, really took me right back. I was one of the people fortunate enough to be growing up watching the series as it aired, so I got to wait the full three months, heard all the rumors about Stewart leaving the show and so forth.
One of the best things about BoBW pt 1 was the way they introduced Shelby not as the bitch of the week, but as the legit new first officer. She came onto the ship and acted like she was the new regular cast member. The script treated her that way, all the other characters treated her that way. They sold it completely, which in turn made the cliff hanger with Picard's apparent death seem absolutely real and legitimate.
With the 101 temp it is possible if the temp drops fast enough.

I fell asleep properly at like 5am this morning and then was woken up at 10 by a friend who just found out they've got polycystic ovaries which, on top of her ulcerative colitis, probably means she can't ever have kids. Then I slept until 1 and then went to do yardwork but even though that was eight hours of sleep I feel sort of dead
