Apo, how are you enjoying life after Destiny? I want to read what they announce in the weekly update on Thursday, but I think I'm probably gonna call it and move on to other things. My D3 wizard just hit 70, so I could start rifting with other people for a bit.
Leone gets all the love, and it's deserved, but I like Corbucci as well.

Corbucci is pretty great too and The Mercenary and Companeros are fun because they have Marxist themes and that can be great for breaking people's brains. And Django set the gold standard for violence in a film. Hell QT stole the ear cutting scene from it. And Franco Nero before he got fat and old.
At least gay men have to suffer the consequences of their own cruel and hyper-demanding beauty standards, instead of offloading all that onto women.
It's more egalitarian.
This caused a bit of drama last year in the GLBTQ sub-community at a hacker convention I went to, apparently.
Nerd or not, there's not excuse for being sloppy, but asking someone who compiles their own device drivers to look like a Calvin Klein model is, well, it's something.
Somewhat related: This is a military photo of Air Force special operations (LOL, but still). Find the intel guy attached to them:

My feelings are mixed. I never did all the things I wanted to do and I really miss all the guys (and one girl) with whom I used to play. I want to do all the stuff again.
On the other hand, it feels much more natural to be back to chasing achievements and playing different games. Destiny really messed up my life and schedule and I don't think I am recovered yet. I still go to bed later and wake up earlier than I used to and wish it were otherwise.
Diablo is cool, but that is another thing that destiny messed up, because everyone left Destiny at different times everyone I know played Diablo at different times, I couldn't let go when everyone else went off the play it.

Back when Will was playing Far Cry 4 I had some half-thoughts about joining him in playing it, because I just knew I'd love that game. I'm playing it now, and I do love it, but the stats say that Will has completed 90% of it and played it for 80+ hours, so there's little chance of us bro-oping it now. Should've done it when I had the chance.

wait you can co-op the main FC4 story?
No, but you can do all the outposts together. And I play Far Cry for the outposts.
The swedes had rangers nearby practicing storming the submarine, and plans being laid to get it to port at Karlskrona and forcing the crew out.

i'm miffed there weren't more reactions to the pun i made earlier in response to skippy's dick rowing scenario
commander of Blekinge coast guard area, about when they went over there to film it (for a report to the heads of the Rikspoliti)
"So we had these magazines, porn magazines. The boys looked in them in the evenings, well, so did we old folks now and then.
So we laid a plan. We figured they'd be interested in that kind of thing.
"Kommen sie", I said. And he came over and I said, let's go around. So they went behind the conning tower, out of sight of the soldiers ashore, and I opened my jacket, and the russian beamed like a sun.
So we filmed, and they didn't mind at all."

Re-watching the West Wing and although I love it so it's hard not to wince at the way Sorkin writes for women. Even CJ gets patted on the head and talked down to by basically everyone else. It's difficult to believe she'd have gone on to become Chief of Staff is Sorkin was still writing in the 6th season.

Quick question: At what age do you think it would be appropriate to show a young person the following movies? In the case of the last one, at what age might a young person be capable of not just watching it, but appreciating it?
The Princess Bride
The Blues Brothers
O Brother Where Art Thou?
V for Vendetta
To Kill a Mockingbird
These are some of my favorite movies, for wildly varying reasons.

there's a bit of that with CJ but I really liked Ainsley Hayes and Mrs Bartlett and Mary Louise Parker's character
and she has fantastic PR because apparently fuck you, pay me is being spun as her standing up for the little guys
our hero~~~~
She's always had excellent PR, and that isn't unique in her industry. They rely on their PR being great because if it isn't they won't have a career for long. Do you think like this about Katy Perry?

I love practically all the female characters on the show (especially CJ - I could listen to Alison Janney laugh forever), and it does get better as it goes on. Mandy is the smartest, least 'silly' female character on the show in the first season (Abbey is great but not really a regular), and she's slowly pushed aside until she vanishes entirely.

Oh man, sweet. I just read the first few paragraphs, and this is going to be awesome.
and yet so appropriate

Then a contra message was given; invite them aboard, give them tea."

"some expert you are"

Eh, it wasn't really a $70 monocle though.
It was a billion isk monocle (or something, I forget the amount)
Now you could spend $70 and buy that isk, but it's not like you can (legitimately) sell that isk for cash if you got it some other way.
Lots and lots of players have several billion isk just lying around.
It’s not a very important country most of the time
