Is there such a thing as being too aggressive on timing a second date?
Because I am thinking fuck it why not this Friday I know she is free and then I'm gone for all of the next week and then a long weekend after too - and it'd be good to hang

But I am also hesitant but I had a good time and feel like she did as well so
(It's not like I have experience to back either thought up hence asking to the crowd)

There is still that whole mental bit of breaking past that barrier of disbelief of oh, people can actually be into me too, as a thing - so maybe it's not so ludicrous and that the other person is a person who might also enjoy it, and it doesn't have to be some intricate game, or an intimidating thing that I probably subconsciously built up especially due to my age and etc

... I was/am doing some high self reflection in bed because I couldn't sleep from the beer. It's helped actually. Honestly I've been surprised by the effect of going to therapy for the last year, meditation on and off, and introspection (often the last bit uh while stupid high) has had though on helping think things through

    Opinions still welcome
Oh god I made a stupid high post I guess, whatever, it's valid thoughts I ain't embarrassed

But really ya big dum dum
If a girl kisses you a buncha times then duh that whole incredulity at the idea that someone might actually find you attractive / capable of invoking attraction in another human being is real dumb

I feel like that was totally a subconscious lack of confidence thought I had for a while and even when I have had various examples to disprove it now over the last year plus
Still I totally felt that feel and forgot at times and am in disbelief

Huh it's kind of like when multiple people comment that I've gotten in shape and am looking more yakked or whatever I'm still like not really believing them and feel puny and like a babby

Have some self confidence and pride ya dum dum

I asked her out this morning and while I haven't exactly been spamming refresh on OKC all day I have been checking in pretty frequently and as far as I can tell she hasn't logged in all day

Which either means she saw the email notification of my message and is now avoiding dealing with telling me no way I smell

Or she's just you know busy living her life outside of looking at a dating site

If we're to the point where companies know about our dates before we do, this targeted advertising thing has gone way too far.

I don't know much about love.

Why would a hotel be interested in someone going on a date?

  • OmnipotentBagelOmnipotentBagel floof Registered User regular
well maybe it's a long distance date and they need a place to stay after the date

Tam as someone who also has anxiety

Think of this as a win win

Either she says yes and hooray a date

Or she says no, which sucks in the short term, but it will let you actually experience rejection instead of just being afraid of it, and it will be less of a bogeyman for you in the future

Either you get what you want or you get some actual experiential data on what the worst case scenario feels like

ha remember that time I was acting like I'm not a complete basket case

So that guy I've been talking to on okcupid tried to invite himself to the fair with me and my friends and I didn't really like it. it was kinda pushy and a red flag for me. Friends thought it was cute but I didn't because we haven't met yet....when I was standoffish about him coming instead of going to work he got a bit quiet and I don't think he liked that I didn't want to meet him at the fair...
He knew I was going with friends and he was like "I think I'm going to take off work tonight" and when I asked why he was like "to go to the fair ;) lol" it just made me uncomfortable :/ .....if it was like oh I'm at the fair too! we should meet (and didn't know I was there), it would have been different...

That's not cute at all and is creepy as fuck. What was he thinking, holy shit.

He's pretty much saying "I'm gonna go stalk you at the fair that you are going to. Just so you know."

    Yeah, that's no bueno.

First time I talked to my wife via okcupid, she was telling me about the last guy she was conversing with. He was trying to invite himself to her house to watch the superbowl with her and the rest of her family. You know, after she had told him it was a family tradition kinda thing they did.

Then she says, "Soooo, that's why I decided to message you."

    Score.

second date successfully scheduled for friday with yest lady, yus, gonna get dope food and see mad max again which she not seen
and thus the test for if she enjoys it or not to prove if she is cool or not i guess

girl for first date tomorrow responded, but she forgot her phone at home all day which is why she didn't respond earlier
which then meant she apparently got her mother worried she was dead or something who then asked her to go visit, so, date cancelled
but this is bad, because... basically there are only 3 weeknights between now and july 13 when i am free and in nyc, since i am traveling so much - she said we will hang out when i am back, but i worry that the almost 3.5 weeks till then is unfortunate. oh well. maybe i can think of things to converse about via text. probably not.. i dunno what to converse about via text with people i have not met, i don't wanna ask a bunch of questions. so hopefully she will still want to meet up by then
